Driver Vigilance Alarm - Confusion.

Post by niclouse3 »

Afternoon all,

Recently bought the 142 and 153, now JT 153 has the active Driver Vigilance Alarm.

What I ideally wanted to do was to run them together, all is fine when I am in the cab of the 153, but when I want to change to the 142 I can not obviously stop the DVA from the 153, it constantly is beeping. Is there a way off stopping the DVA when I am driving from the 142?

Any help would be appreciated,

Cheers Nick

You could try, (no guarantees mind)
find out what the control value is in the 153 that changes when you press the vigilance reset button.
Add a control value called the same thing to the 142 making sure it is apply to consist and the min/max/default values are 1

Test.

When you're in the 142 cab the apply to consist should kick in and permanently press the reset button, stopping the alarm from sounding.
When in the 153 it should operate as normal.

Unless there is an off switch for the DVA in the 153, in which case just do that instead :D

There is a switch on the JT 153 behind the drivers seat on the wall to turn off the vigilance device.

If that's the case then that's even easier :)

I was going to suggest it but something in the back of my mind was telling me that that just switched it between silent and audible when outside.

Just an idea, but does it stop if you switch the direction selector back to off on the 153 as you would have to in reality? If its still unlocked on the desk, that's why it would still sound - as with the real thing, although in reality it would not let you key into another desk if it was still active! :D Have a feeling it will work regardless unless you do, unlike some units where it only activates if your in the cab at the time.

Doesn't the Q key turn off both the DVA and AWS ?
