Just wondering which of the two cards may have the edge for running TS2014 in our Train Sim hardware experts eyes?

Neither...both are great cards but the power they offer isn't used by TS2014. Whilst we know RSC have plans to use a better game engine that will be some time before we see it, by which time both these cards will be 'old hat'.markjudith wrote:Thanks folks,
Yeah I have been looking at the various comparison threads and there doesn't seem to be much between them depending on which side of the fence you look from it seems!
That is why I ask the question, what would you folks think is the best bet for TS2014, No other games would be used.

Got to agree with that really. Also although a big AMD fan/ supporter i would have to echo for now the recommendation of the Nvidia card, as the game seems to prefer them more so overall. I haven't seen any feed back if the R9 series is any better for DX9 based games, as the HD78xx series seemed to suffer a lot on some (Get that myself on some titles)gptech wrote:Neither...both are great cards but the power they offer isn't used by TS2014. If you're looking to improve your graphics capability right now because you have weak hardware already, then a 650Ti Boost (£150 or so) would be a cost effective solution. (AMD eqivalent would be the R9 270)
Personally I'd go nVidia, there seems to be less reported issues from nVidia users than AMD users.
What is your existing GPU?
Have to agree too. My HD7950 is more that adequate for almost everything available today - but, as always (and discussed time and again), the RS/RW/TS evolution has not overcome the clanky old game engine - and runs the game at the lower end of my card's capacity. My advice: save your money unless you have other games/software that can better use a powerful, more modern card.220389 wrote:Got to agree with that really.
