@smarty2: You can play career scenarios without scoring in TS2014. There is a switch in one of the option menus.

Yes I know, what bugged me was the scenario ending because a Spad at the end and not scoring anything!windberg wrote:@smarty2: You can play career scenarios without scoring in TS2014. There is a switch in one of the option menus.
Anyhow I have standardised the career scenarios now so it isn't an issue anymore.

Hi, is there any way to stop the arc flash from appearing in the cabview on the 87,my son has photosensitive epilepsy, and random flashing can cause problems, loving the route though.

Re: WCML Over Shap
Have to say these prototypical brakes need some getting used to!! Mind you though I do like the new physics etc, the route is a corker! Thoroughly recommend. Now then Mr. Ross I guess Preston Birmingham New St will be on the cards?

Not forgetting impartiality, which a lot of people on here seem to have difficulty with.rfletcher72 wrote: Proportion and perspective.

If you are saying that they are missing because you have physically been to a part of the line and seen one which is not present in game then fine. However you must also remember that speed warning boards are only used when the speed decreases on the line by 30mph or more. Driver training and route knowledge will keep you right in the future.

7 pages in and no one has asked... As one of the best writers for scenarios on the WCML (Lucky enough to have tested a few) are you planning anything? I do hope so as for me they kept my interest in the original for many months. In fact I still revisit them every now and again
Re: WCML Over Shap
Started a scenario, but it seems the revamped Class 47's throttle and brakes don't respond to Raildriver any more. Or is it just me?

Thanks mate, I have been working on some modern scenarios for quite some time and now I just need to finish the readme files and correct a few spelling mistakes.bri2808 wrote:Chris;firetrap1 wrote:FYI to the poster who commented about missing speed warning boards,

Scenarios are:
1) a route learner trip from Preston to Carlisle on a NR HST
2) a colas 57 freight from Carlisle to Preston which fails just after Lancaster due to loss of power, based off a well known 5 part YouTube video.
3) a Northern Rail 150 local service from Lancaster down the branch line and back
4) an A1 express rail tour over shap from Carlisle to Preston based off a real working.
5) a class 390 express from Carlisle to Preston.
6) a class 221 XC service from Preston to Carlisle.
7) a few mail workings
And a few more still WIP from more modern eras.
Also cannot highly recomend enough just how good the class 390 looks and feels taking the curves over shap.
Hopefully this will give a good mix of modern scenarios and BR blue scenarios over the next few weeks. I really feel like we need the 87 to be reskined into VT colours now, as a run down from Carlisle in red and black would bring back memories from the last decade. I wondered if DPS had any take on the idea of using their skin for the BR blue version of the 87...

Just a thought, what is the chance of producing 87101 working in Thyristor mode ( by passes Tapchanger).

Re: WCML Over Shap
Just ran a 142 from lancaster to Windermere, would be really nice of it was workshopped to finish the branch to Windermere, that would top this brill route off.

Just ran a Cl 31 on a freight at a slow pace in Quick Drive. What a piece of work! At times it was just like a TeleRail cab ride. Hats off to Keith, a masterpiece.
Re: WCML Over Shap
From reading the manual, it looks like these might just be the new benchmark for D-E physics. That on its own is a significant incentive for me to get the route in due course.stuart666 wrote:Dont forget the Class 47s though. They are much improved on the version that shipped with Newcastle York.

Re: WCML Over Shap
Only reason I've bought this at full price on release day is because Mr Ross has his name on it.
It'll be the weekend before I get the chance to have a proper run on it but after a quick once over in the editor and a couple of ten minute quick drives I have to say this is looking very good. Stock pack is excellent. Nice to have an updated domino duff (looking forward to sussing out the new loco performance and brake effect scripting) and some weathered reskins of wagons, and relieved that the windscreen of the bundled RSC 87 appears to have been addressed. Plenty of included scenario's, even if they are all career and there's bags of scope for scenario creation too.
Not fussed one way or the other about the unscenerised Windermere branch. Have to say though that the missing point motors are a surprise given the high standards that previous Krossrails routes have set, and while it's one of those things that, annoyingly, you cant un-notice once it's been pointed out it's impact is minimal.
Overall then, as close to a perfect ten as you can get. Keith Ross does it again and I can't wait to see whatever he turns his hand to next.
