I think you are all in for a treat. If you remotely like BR diesel or electric traction, or just liked WCML North, then its the route for you. I liked the Morecambe section, interesting track layout from Heysham, its got early pattern DMU written all over it.
Happy coincidence for me of course, it means I can reference all the rolling stock for my Settle and Carlisle route.

Just got it and well to be honest first impressions aren't that good.
1. It looks nowhere near as good as some of the more recent UK and German routes
2. There's no point motors on the points
3. Missing speed warning boards
4. MK2 coaches have MK3 sounds applied
Still the best UK route to date though so thank you Keith!

Seems a bit conflicting first you say it looks nowhere as good as some of the more recent UK and German routes then you say still the best UK route to date!
I am/was planning to get this tonight.

Pete i say still get it.
Minor things like no Point Motors doesn't really concern me, especially since we have Neutral Zones on the route.
Anyway shall post some screenshots up a bit later on.

Just get it. Personally I would be hard pressed to notice a point motor doing 110mph, but thats just my personal opinion.

I believe the route includes EPS speeds for modern tilting trains, so that should be good... I'm looking forward to Super Elevation, scenery and the layout... Always did like Preston - Carlisle more than Carlisle to Glasgow...
I wonder how long Mr AP is going to need to produce he's monster scenario packs. I can see at least 3 packs: Modern Stock, BR Blue Era, Freight(Modern), Freight(BR Blue).... Maybe more....? Damn, I can't wait...

It is because of the endless scenario possibilities!

It does include EPS Speed limits for 221s and 390s. I can't imagine it will take long for scenarios to appear from AP. Got two in making from me, One being continuation of my sleeper scenarios. Also one idea for my painfully slow journey on the 27th of December with 50mph limits

Then I'm a happy chappy... I love the plastic fantastic stock... 390, 221, 66, 70, 86, 325... I can't wait to put them on the route... And EPS with curve easements are going to be so much easier to work with...

Hopefully AP may do a BR period one like he has done for some of the other routes!
Did EMU's work this far up in BR days? If so I would love to see a 304 appear, unfortunately the most likely source of one of those has gone!

Is that a filthy, lumbering hulk of blue that I hear whistling away in the distance....

Wouldn't have a clue. If had a 370 (APT-P) then we would have a EMU for 80's period at least.

From 1974 to at least 1982 there was a daily working from New Street to Preston booked for an EMU, so that would be either a 304 or a 310. The various info I have for the period varies from this service terminating at Preston, or continuing on to Lancaster - I see my WTT's being put to good use over the coming weeks

.

Surely you are joking? That's the biggest contradiction of the year. Not as good as recent routes but the best UK route so far?
As for the missing point motors comment...
