Deleting Track

I was looking at a picture of Guide Bridge in the Sim set in the 1970's.
Posted by Skoda he had cloned the route and removed a number of buildings.

I though I would give it a try & update Woodhead to 1970's Blue (cloned version). Buildings I can delete without problems.

I'm trying to remove some of the points and crossings that had gone by BR Blue but when I delete a section of track it automatically adds buffers to the sections either side.
Is there a way of stopping this happening?
Also rejoining the track also seems to be difficult.

Could you post a before and after screenshot the track you're trying to modify?

Not sure how to.
I have taken screenshots whilst playing a scenario but not whilst editing.

If you have deleted points use the weld tool to rejoin the track at the buffers.

Peter, when deleting track be careful you don't delete a piece with a signalling link on it---you get rid of the link, you automatically get rid of the signal too.

As the others have said, when you delete a piece of trackwork the game will add buffers and to get rid of those you'll have to use the weld tool---top fly out, middle row, looks like a clock saying 3 o'clock. Click that and you'll get grey cubes over the buffers, click a cube and it'll weld the sections and get rid of that cube....and so on.
You may find all sorts of grey cubes pop up, particularly if you're in an area with diamond crossings or slips, don't click a cube over those!!---doing so will change a single slip to a double, and I believe a diamond will become a single slip.
Why not create a wee test route, lay some track and experiment?

Thanks Gary.

I will keep playing with it.
