I have just completed 2 career scenarios on WCML-N but in both of them the train uncoupled without me knowing whilst on the move. I have never had this happen before so to have it in 2 in a row was quite a shock! The 2 scenarios in question were "Keep On Moving" with the class 70 and "Carlisle Run" with the Pendolino.
I had heard other people having problems with the class 70 scenario with the tanks uncoupling so was expecting a problem here. The other one though was a surprise as I have driven the Pendolino many times and this had never happened.
On the class 70 scenario there were 4 occasions where the tanks uncoupled. 4 came off somewhere after Beattock Summit in 2 batches, I didn't notice until approaching Carstairs as I always stay in the cab. Then 2 came off just before Carstairs and 6 more just after the station leaving me with just 2! I managed to complete the scenario but the train was obviously much lighter towards the end so not ideal.
On the Pendolino scenario again I was unaware that anything had happened until I arrived at Carlisle. I looked outside and I had become a 3 car! The other 6 coaches were not far behind and were just at the end of the platform. The information at the end of the scenario said the train split 5 minutes from the end so this would have been passing Carlisle Yard. They then must have rolled to a stop having followed me into the station.
Does anyone know why this is happening? Am I causing it by poor driving (can't see how) or is it a fault/bug with the game? When the Pendolino split I would have been coasting with occasional notch 1 power to maintain 100mph so hardly erratic driving.
There seem to be so many problems I'm encountering at the moment, quite frustrating!

I've had it on Castle Rock:

and Trev123 has had it on Keep On Moving like you; also dave13 with the 390:

Re: Trains uncoupling while moving
I had this too with the Class to in the Keep On Moving scenario. I lost all but one of the tanks a few miles after Beattock Summit but didn't realise until near Carstairs. So I reversed slowly back to collect them. However, as I approached the lost tanks at less than 1mph, they rushed forward on their own crashing into the back of the train and derailing the whole consist! Oh well, at least it's not just me that's having this problem.

Cheers. Glad to hear it's not my driving!ttjph wrote:I've had it on Castle Rock:

Yup, my Castle Rock run did that to me too. I think they suddenly remember that they're supposed to be coupled - but with several metres of stretch in the couplings!firstoak wrote:However, as I approached the lost tanks at less than 1mph, they rushed forward on their own crashing into the back of the train and derailing the whole consist!
