Where has TestTrak gone to ?

As far as I know, I've had TestTrak on my system since it was put out for free a few years back, but now, it seems to have disappeared from my list of routes ! I wanted to see if a new loco had successfully been installed, but I failed to locate it in the list, at all. Has anyone had theirs removed at all ? Just trying to see if anythins is amiss.

My one hasn't been removed either, but I've made a dupe just in case they try and delete it. I like the route and RSC have no right to delete my own purchases just like that.

I still have it.

In fact the Class 156 Training Scenario is on it, along with another Class 156 scenario "Fault Testing", plus the original scenario for the Super Express Concept EMU and a couple of Free Roams for German and UK stock.

:) Maybe not, but it was actually a free item, I believe. But, if it was removed at anytime, I, for one, never knew about that, at all. If it's still there, then just where IS IT ?? I just can't locate it anywhere. The number described by someone, can't be found, and these numbers are notoriously hard to read, and do it accurately, either. For me, at least, as I'm 65 years old, and my eyesight isn't that crash-hot, either. Some text is too small to read properly, as well, mainly in the route-building editor.

When I open name my route, for Test Track it comes up with missing route properties XML. Click on the + symbol and there are tests for various trains.

I bought the game in December 2011 as Railworks 3: Train Simulator 2012. The TestTrack was included with the game at the time I bought it along with the old original routes like Headborugh North and Seebergbahn. It's my purchase and I do not see why RSC would wipe the customer's own purchase without acknoledgement or any other good reason.

Regards to the route folder, all routes are located in the routes folder (which is located in the content folder of the main railworks directory.) For example, for me, it's located in:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Content\Routes

The route folder name that Ajay1 previously mentions, being 00000008-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 is located in the directory. It sometimes helps by sorting the folders by name.

Hope it helps.

Wonder if the disappearance of TestTrak for some People has any relation to this ?

Just click on the Namemyroute.exe in the main RW folder and it shows all your routes with names.

No, as far as I can tell (as one of the "sufferers"), any similarity is completely superficial and these two cases are unrelated, as a matter of fact, RSC itself admitted removing the TestTraK (from new downloads, if you happen to have a backup, it will not be affected), I was just corresponding with when that happened and they admitted this openly when I asked them about that.
(I am not saying it is completely OK, but in this case, at least we have the official word regarding the situation)

Ka959, have you recently reinstalled the simulator?
I know some Spanish user who has lost the route after reinstalling the simulator.
I also read something about it on the Steam forums. Now I can not find the thread, but an administrator of Dovetail Games answered this a user with the same problem:
Dovetail Games wrote:We are currently aware for the issue with Testtrak and as you have correctly worked out if you owned it before the upgrade to TS2014 then you kept it, but a complete reinstall will not replace it.

The reason for this is because there are some issues we discovered with Testtrak running in TS2014 and therefore we have removed it and are currently working hard on fixing them. As such Testttrak will be added back into the game very soon and everyone who had it previously will get it again. We are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.

Hi there !

Well, that bit of text well and truly answered my problem, without a doubt ! Thanks very much for your help here. I used TestTrak fairly often until recently, mainly for testing new downloads. I hadn't really noticed it was missing in the route list, until just recently, and knew I had it before this, but it had gone totally, and I recalled never doing anything that could have led to itls deletion, so decided to ask around, and then got this reply after a bit of waiting. So it was well worth the trouble, I can honestly say. Thanks to you ! Cheers.

I just tried NameMyRoute.exe as advised by Trev123 above.

I get many routes listed as "missing RouteProperties.xml" with no name. These appear to be the routes that now use the .ap file format.

It appears that RSC hasn't updated it's own tools for the .ap files.
