Re: Class 91 and Class 92 Progress
It's a personal issue by EWS to all Drivers on 92s. I also have a full Manual for all modes which I was issued as an Instructor.

May be, but this type of material remains out of the Eye of the General public. Like all current Loco Manuals and material related to driving it's strictly a no no!shebarose wrote:Maybe DTG may be interested in that![]()

Re: Class 91 and Class 92 Progress
A mate of mine has at least some of the manuals for a class 70. Though which manuals in particular he has I do not know.yyyyamst wrote:May be, but this type of material remains out of the Eye of the General public. And as for how he got them again I have no idea.
But it does go to show that even though this sort of stuff is not supposed to be in the hands of the general public it can and does happen on occasion

Re: Class 91 and Class 92 Progress
There are quite a few BR diesel/electric loco manuals in private(collectors) hands which makes it a pain if there is a fault with a preserved loco which the manual we have don't feature...trainfan11111 wrote:A mate of mine has at least some of the manuals for a class 70. Re: Class 91 and Class 92 Progress
I doubt it as I offered them the class 450/444, 1963 400 (VEP & CIG) & 455 traction or Drivers manuals as well as the faults and failure guides to make the units that bit more realistic and they refused them.shebarose wrote:Maybe DTG may be interested in that![]()

No wonder the 450 accelerates like a rocket and brakes poorlynukem wrote:I doubt it as I offered them the class 450/444, 1963 400 (VEP & CIG) & 455 traction or Drivers manuals as well as the faults and failure guides to make the units that bit more realistic and they refused them.shebarose wrote:Maybe DTG may be interested in that![]()

Re: Class 91 and Class 92 Progress
As you'd expect....doesn't look that good for a company to have in it's possession documents not intended for public release.nukem wrote:I doubt it as I offered them the class 450/444, 1963 400 (VEP & CIG) & 455 traction or Drivers manuals as well as the faults and failure guides to make the units that bit more realistic and they refused them.
Re: Class 91 and Class 92 Progress
Out of interest, what's the big deal if they were in the publics hands? Is there a worry that people might read them, then attempt to steal trains? I can't really think of a scenario where having the manual shown above in my possession would cause any damages to anyone.....

Re: Class 91 and Class 92 Progress
Maybe so, but that would be part of the reason. Modern Traction Units when delivered usually also come with a limited number of addition Manuals which are copyright to the Loco manufacturer. These are expensive items to produce and a re order is usually not an option. The Class 92 Drivers Checklists and Manuals are a good example. The copyright was eventually purchased by EWS as it could not re produce the original material. The same ruling applies to equipment and sites like E Bay are monitored by Railway Operators to ensure their items are not being sold by individuals!Squatch wrote:Out of interest, what's the big deal if they were in the publics hands?
