Yeah, you're right on that one :)
montylowe2 wrote:The only way to get the files physically into the folder unzipped/unpacked is to use 7 zip (or so it appears) which I have already done to no success
7zip doesn't make the files read/write, so that may be part of the problem. Mike Simpson wrote about it recently at http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 0#p1676396 Might be worthwhile you posting in the RW Tools section as he checks that regularly and I'm sure would have some valuable input.

Yes, the idea is that it's seamless and effortless; for most folk it is so I think you might have a little configuration 'quirk' that's not catered for in the programming.

Re: Help with installation of ECMLS

beg to advise sir, I have the thing working. Its taken me a week, but I managed it. It turns out that I cannot have .ap files for routes, they all need to be unzipped/unpacked. I did this before, however not properly. I used .ap file manager then extract. Anyway, at least I know what to do for future.

Thanks

Hi, are you trying to run this on an older version of the program? It would explain why you are having trouble with the AP files as they would not be supported.

I'm not sure! It's a mystery. I have TS14 with all the patches/updates. What is more strange, GEML works fine without unzipping the .ap files.

That rather disproves the earlier statement then, and takes us back to square one.
As GEML works, right click the routes folder and choose 'Properties', then the 'Security' tab and make a note of the settings shown.
Compare this to those shown when you do the same to the ECMLS route folder.
If they're different we know it's a possible permissions error, if they're the same we'd need to dig a bit deeper and start looking at the permissions applied to your user account for the folder.
