It seems that this week's offer is a somewhat anonymous train. I've tried to identify this train type /class with no luck -it seems that Wikipedia is not my friend and Google is not my mother's brother, as far as this is concerned anyway. In particular, I wanted to know whether this was some kind of MU or loco-hauled train, and if the vizzart product included a prototypical loco if the latter. Perhaps someone who understands vizzart German or can interpret Google's translation could enlighten me so that I can decide whether to take advantage of the special offer. Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Vizzart offer - Metropolitan IC
HI, for this price why not?
Originally this was the DB Metropolitan, it was painted in grey with a gold, oval, elegant logo, pushed pulled by an identically painted DB101(in real life).
The train (the brand) did not perform as expected so the wagons and the cab car were converted to the standard IC livery and mixed with the standard IC stock. So the model is an ex metropolitan IC rolling stock.
You can find it on the net as the DB Metropolitan

Re: Vizzart offer - Metropolitan IC
These were an unsuccessful attempt to corner the business market out of Koelnto Hamburg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metropolitan_(train) or German http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metropolitan . Originally they were all one class and were painted silver/black window band with a silver 101 as power. After the failure of this venture the sets were absorbed into the IC fleet. Saw a set in Augsburg last year but not sure if that is their normal territory. At this price good for Ai, but they are not to my knowledge mixed with normal IC cars, they are retained in their normal sets, but now with two classes. I think they are not fully compatable with other IC stock a bit like the Mk Iv coaches here. There is a lot of info about formations and use on the German wiki.
