OK, clear now.

I hope the 5MT won't be too long.

Thanks

The free weathered reskins courtesy of Ben Yates fine reskinning are available at:

http://www.justtrains.net/articles/stan ... d-versions

What's included:
To accompany the default liveries included in the recently released Just Trains 4MT Standard Advanced locomotive package for TS2014, Ben Yates has kindly created some excellent FREE weathered versions of the loco as well as tenders sporting the late and early British Railways crest.

The weathered versions are:

Default loco with moderate weathering
Default loco with heavy weathering
Default tender (no weathering) with LATE crest
Default tender with intermediate weathering and EARLY crest
Default tender with intermediate weathering and LATE crest
Default tender with heavy weathering and LATE crest

So if you own the Just Trains 4MT Advanced and you want to get dirty, then download the FREE weathered versions now (50MB). You will, of course, need to have the 4MT Advanced already installed in TS2014 to use these new textures!

Mark

Question, When I run the 4mt up hills i notice all the water goes towards the back near the cab and i get a reading of 103 % ect if a brake or go down hill it drops. should I put the injector on when climb or going down hill?
worried I will either overfill the boiler or expose the firebox crown. what do I do?

This it what happens in real life Jake, because of gravity the water moves from the front to the back. It's same if you have a bottle half full, and hold it horizontally and tilt the bottle up or down slightly. This is what happens with the boiler on steam engines on inclines. Something I have always been told is the sweet spot is to have the water level between half and 3 quarters full that way you should know you are safe

The highest you want to have it go is 75%, the lowest 25%, that gives you half a boiler of leeway for gradients.

Hi all,
Does anyone know how I can keep the steam generation rate down? I keep getting the safety valve blowing off and it's doing my head in.

Opening the cylinder cocks would help but it is difficult to get the fireman to just back off. Also, leave the brakes in full 'release' position as this uses up steam too - other than that I don't know, but I'm going blind as I don't have this locomotive.

Closing the dampers helps on other locos so it should with this one.

Thanks guys,

I guess I haven't helped myself. Put the 4MT on a unfitted freight from Dumfries, and stalled on the bank Stranraer bound, I couldn't get the thing going again :(

Hey Ali,

I think to keep the valves quiet depending at which point you are driving, i.e. shut off or climbing.
Firstly, trying to match the steam generation and usage closely together would help, as others stated, closing dampers and the blower will cool the fire as less air is getting to it. Using the live injector instead of exhaust, certainly drops the pressure somewhat. And a real good way is to open the regulator fully, get a sudden speed boost but boiler pressure drops rapidly
