Where do you draw the line?

People of FB moan that 'my house isn't there'. If that person had his/her house put in, everyone would be wanting their house, school, workplace, whatever. Before you know it, there's too much and the FPS drags down, then they'd moan it's too resource heavy!

I've wanted to build my local route set in the BR Era. Kind of off putting as you can almost hear the comments 'That front door of that house is a white one not a brown one!'

I'm from the good old day's of BVE and MSTS, where scenery is a representation but believable at the same time. Trowbridge station in MSTS doesn't have the exact Boywers factory by the station, and the Asda and Apple Green petrol station isn't included, not complaining though!

Would be nice to see this version out, the AI should in theory work over the freeware version. Might be able to actually do a diesel gala with this, also making use of Steam Supreme's GWR Hall and 7F :)

By the way I like driving on preserved lines. A good opportunity to run any loco as part of a gala or whatever or re-create events that I might have attended like the autumn gala etc

I agree with a lot of what you say. I have a fondness for preserved lines, for the same reasons you've just said. As most of you know, i'm a bit of a sound fanatic! I love running on preserved lines. Lots of restarts and time to enjoy all those extra subtle sounds that I throw in!! Can't wait to storm along the West Somerset!

Matt

Hopefully this is not an attempt to placate the steam buffs who have been clamouring for a proper main line from the steam era - chuffing along at 25 Mph on a single line in the currently available express locos doesn't quite fit that bill. The only one produced so far was the original Slow & Dirty - and that wasn't even complete - something about not going any further because single line working made it hard to make scenarios I seem to remember ?
I am sure someone is building the Bluebell, infact most preserved railways seemed to have been covered!I don't expect RSC to trawl through the forums to see what routes are being built!

Personally I am still waiting for a 1970's classic blue route!

Bluebell :-?

I was modelling this route but there are certain problems in creating Preserved Railways for sharing/sale that need to be considered. I am still aiming to complete this route one way or another when the right conditions are in place.

Preserved lines do nothing for me. Not many steam locos you can thrash at 25mph. Rather put the money to a driver experience course on the real thing

A lot of it was 40-45mph with a couple of 50mph sections.

Well, freeware has definitons by assets used and it needs a minimum of 3 routes that cost £59.97 altogether for pre-TS2013 users and more besides for others so even if RSC stick with £24.99 this isn't a guaranteed rip-off.

Looking at the Minehead screenshot just put up it looks like the route is still WIP(depending on when the shot was taken of course)...

Got to say the newer shots look a lot better than that first shot. Just one thing that sticks out as wrong on the Minehead shot and that's that hill. The way they have taken the shot they should be looking out to sea with the hill to the left abit behind the station building. .

Sorry? You're saying that the screenshot is taken from the wrong angle? :-?

From the angle it's taken the screenshot is perfectly acceptable as far as I can tell. The sea is on the right behind the row of buildings... What's your point?

Looking at your overhead shot Bob I can see it now. I must of had the angle on street view alittle off. So my mistake.

Had a look through my collection of images, think it's fair to say the angle of the track is quite correct, which isn't exactly a surprise. See below shot:

Have to say,it looks like it will be a nice route,I do notice the shed building missing but can only assume that is a WIP shot.

Cheers,
Mark

At least they got that in! The Hill is more like a landmark to me. Leaning out a MK1 behind a loco leaving Dunster, you know you're on the final approach when you see the hill ahead.

I wonder if the cafe coach will be at Minehead. Depends what research they have though as the last time I went there the coach was gone :?

You can tell the route is fairly recent as the Turntable, introduced in May 2008, is visable.
