Point taken, but I did say I assumed that these were WIP shots.

Even so, if the route is imminent or not, I will reserve personal judgement on whether the route is up to scratch when there is some more meat on the bones, as it were

Please, please, please change that sterile white, bleached ballast before issue. The GEML is good as is Woodhead and Settlebut we're in the land of Burlescombe so let's have at least an attempt at mimicing the local ballast stone. Have a look at some photos!

Hi, Actually theres a stonking great Housing development, Called "Brunswick Green" on the farm site now,the WSR have bought the land were the barn is in the screenshot,for a future Museum and carriage shed.
I congratulate RSC on choosing the WSR as a project,(provided they do it justice of course).

I've been very critical of RSC but this gets a massive vote of approval from me. Providing they do a good job and make this route up to a high payware standard then this could mark the start of an exciting new chapter with RSC putting their unquestionable route building expertise to the several dozen preserved railways that exist in England alone.
The 25mph speed limit is a bit of a downer but as a big fan of preserved railways in real life, I'm thrilled at the thought of being able to drive RSC built routes that I know like the back of my hand.

The length of a route is not a big deal for me, I'm more interested in accuracy and atmosphere. Some of the long routes in the game are deathly boring in places anyway.

One minor complaint though, the ballast in the screenshot is way too light in colour. Looks bleached.

It would be great to see the Iconic York-Peterborough section added to Newcastle-York, after all , this stretch was where the A4 recoded the world speed record in the 1920s. Even greater would be to make the whole route from Kings X to Edinburgh - but can the Railworks engine handle that?
Whilst all the modern graphics features are great, it would seem that we will be into the next generation of hardware before we get to see really large route installations along the lines of MSTS.

It can handle 130 - 140 mile long US routes so should abable to do Peterborough to York it's just for some reason UK routes seem to be made alot shorter unless it's Keith's WCML.

I like the idea of short routes, personally I don't have 6 hours to drive 400 miles.
I hope they do the stations justice.

I never said it was randomly placed there, i never said there should be no barn....

+1, hopefully the route will include Taunton station so there is an extra bit of mileage to the route instead of it ending at Norton Fitzwarren...

Having stood on the bridge today with the RSC screenshot in hand, I can say that the detailing is fairly good, and all the other WSR volunteers I talked to today said it looked fairly accurate. The two faults I have with it is that the barn looks to be too close to the station building and the signal at the end of platform 1 is a GWR centre balanced signal and not a standard GWR lower quadrant signal! Other then that I cant wait

I think RSC have picked a hard route to make, GWR fans are the hardest to please!

The UKTS version is brilliant. I was going to do a mixed traffic like steam/diesel gala for it as I posted sometime ago about it. Problem I found is I couldn't do it as all the points were manual.

This meant you had to be both a driver and a signalman to change the points for yourself and the AI. Even then, the AI I tested either refused to enter the station, or just got stuck at the station if they got that far.
