Hi John, I dont think many people will remember that a few years ago I did get quite far with a version of the YCR called Eastern Metals set in the 1950s which had York to Scarbough,Scarbough to Whitby and Whitby back to Malton. I have not done much on it for the last year but I think I may have ago on it tonight.

North Wales Coast in the 1970s/1980s would be fantastic!

Crewe - Liverpool (1970s/80s/90s), London - Southampton, or more of the WCML would be nice too

Hi Pete;

Yes, in my opinion it is, but ensure you get the patches for it, though as a download it should be fully patched. As you can see it is my neck of the woods so to speak, but it was the first one I ever purchased, and got me hugely into MSTS before I switched to RW/TS2014. There is a lot of things acts/reskins for it on this site alone that make it really good and can make it old school or modern.

Can TS2014 really cope with the demands of a mass route like Dorset Coast or Thames Mersey?? No I didn't think so.
Added to which no one seems to be willing to invest the time to produce such a netowrk.
Only WCML(N) comes close thus far.

It's described on Making Tracks as LSE Gold Edition, which I presume means it's the fully updated version.

As far as I know TS2014 is no less able than MSTS to support very large routes - it is asset density and not route length that matters. Your second comment is nearer the mark but I don't doubt we will eventually get there, notably with collaborative projects such as Trans Pennine Route and with the new Workshop encouraging the expansion of existing DLC routes. TS2014 has also introduced the ability to chain scenarios across multiple routes which some might feel is a better alternative to very long routes.
