Not yet found a reference to what all the files are for in the folder - does anyone know?

It is also required by the Blueprint Editor ( BlueprintEditor2). Without the Temp folder, Railworks won't create the necessary BlueprintSchema.XML file causing the Blueprint Editor not to work.

The temp folder is more or less essential, it's where the various elements of the game stick the temporary files produced by editing stuff, as outlined by wacampbell and is used when downloading and the subsequent installing of Workshop items. If this folder doesn't exist the game really should create it 'on the fly' and once any editing session is done the files inside it should be no longer necessary and should be automatically deleted by the game. If this doesn't happen in theory you'd be able to delete them manually with no detriment.

Mike Simpson
Has a delete temp files option in RW-Tools under scenario - works well.

Thanks guys - it was the RW Tools button that got me checking. MY temp folder is 109mb and has loads of files in it so sounds like I can clear it out and leave the folder in place.
