This may be my seetings but it is really hacking me off and I can't find a solution.
Kewick Route and others with 3D sleepers now only draw them to a distance most closer than they were in 2013. But it is still ok (ish).
My narrow gauge track ( see Leek and Manifold photos ) used to have sleepers drawn out to a reasonable distance. Now they don't show up other than the one you are directly over.
I am very confused and need help to understand why this is happening as it is massively demotivating tonight

Re: RW 2014 Draw Distance for track
I would be grateful if anyone could report back if they can see sleeper tops between the rails using my narrow gauge track types B and S ( the gravel and sand ones).

Re: RW 2014 Draw Distance for track
B, S and E are the same with me. From a distance i can only see the first and last sleeper, i have to zoom in right on top of the tracks and even then i can only see about three sleepers ahead inbetween the rails. The K type tracks are slightly better when on top of the tracks i can see about twelve sleepers ahead. The J type is the only track not affected, apart from the sleeperless tracks of course.

Screenshots demonstrates what happening better than words, K on the left and B on the right. E and S are the same as B.

Re: RW 2014 Draw Distance for track
Thanks for that - it means my computer settings are not the issue but something in RW2014 has changed to do with the draw distance which has rendered the track rubbish. Your pics are exactly what I am seeing.
Brilliant.
I have just experimented by fractionally raising the sleeper top and we get a bit more distance but what this looks like is a redesign of the tracks increasing their poly count. The question is true 3D track now ? It might be the easiest way of doing it.
What ever else it means a fundemental redesign. I suspect the same is true of other tracks as well - I have just had a look at the CKPR and the track there fades into the distance in a shimmering way as well although a lot further away. Oddly the Talyllyn track doesn't seem to do it and I don't know why yet.

Re: RW 2014 Draw Distance for track
Hi, has your track got many LODs? If the program is now more aggressive with the LODs, it might be culling the detail too early.
Re: RW 2014 Draw Distance for track
I wondered about LODS. Tried an experiment manually changing the LODS and it didn't seem to make a difference. The other alternative may be the texture type which seems to differ between the Tallylyn and my track sleepers.
Re: RW 2014 Draw Distance for track
Fixed !
The issue is directly related to the difference between the ballast height and the top of 3D sleepers. the greater the difference the further they are visable before they blend.
Fix for my track being uploaded - just lowered the ballast by -0.02m in the source files.
