2014 introduction
Can anything be done about the introduction for the 2014 as it's very long and not needed when wants to start using the trains. It was shifted when using the MTS. Thanks

Re: 2014 introduction
Do as I've done. Go to Steam\SteamApps\common\RailWorks\data\videos...
Now rename the only file there (2013_startup.ogv) so that you have a backup... I use 2013_startup.ogv.ORIG
Next right-click in the folder window and select New then Text Document.
Rename the new text document to 2013_startup.ogv
It will be an empty file and you'll never see the video again. It'll load TS much faster.

Yep. Works with TS2013 and TS2014. They didn't change the intro filename between titles.
And ta for the kind words.

Thanks very much for that tip. The intro was sooooo long. Done as you suggested and it work a treat.

Fodda, from glendeep-done exactly as you said but did not work. I just got a blank screen and that was that. I put it back to how it was and got the long intro back again. I have windows 7 Laptop and works very well. Sorry about this but thought you would like to know. Once again many thanks.

Re: 2014 introduction
Glen. You may need to tweak Win 7 a tiny bit to show file extensions.
In Windows go to Start-All Programs-Accessories then select Windows Explorer.
Then in the Menu select Tools, and then select Folder Options...
In the window that opens select the View tab.
Now DEselect the option: Hide extensions for known file types (make sure there isn't a tick in the box).
Click OK, close Windows Explorer and then do the file changing I explained in my first post.
This little tweak is a must for anyone wanting to edit and play with files, and doesn't adversely affect Windows operation in any way.
Good luck sir.

Fodda-thanks for reply but------As I am 68 and not very good with computors, I can't find Windows go to start-All Programs etc. I know it's easy to some people but me it's quite difficult. Sorry about this but would still like to get rid of the introduction. Many thanks for your patience Glenwood

Glen,
The start button/globe is by default in the bottom left hand side of your screen, click that and at the bottom of the window is the box labelled 'All Programs'. If you click that the pop up list changes to one showing all the programs you have installed.
Give me an hour and I'll send you a PM.
Gary

Re: 2014 introduction
I'll second (or third) this. When the new TS2014 logo intro bit comes up (or at any time during the intro movie), just press Esc. This skips the intro movie. Simples. IMO far easier than messing about with files.winifred89 wrote:Just Press Esc on the computer.
