hehe not usually a "proper" sale at Easter, sometimes the odd offer or two, nor Valentines / Paddy's day. The 3 sales that are are almost guaranteed to happen (or at least have always happened in my 9+ years of Steam usage) are the 'Summer Sale' (two weeks end June / Start of July, although this was quite late this year..), the 'Thanksgiving' and 'Xmas / New Year' Sale. Of course publisher sales can happen any time of the year and of course the 'Quakecon' event although usually just iD software items.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see an event for the release of SteamOS or on the actual week that Steam Hardware is released officially although that won't be till 2014. Although most likely it'll be a Linux / SteamOS compatible software sale as we recently had when the Linux Steam client became 'Official'. :)

Just checked my L2B route in 2014 and my occlusions are still in place. Although my 4CIG soundpack had been overwritten for some strange reason. A quick reinstall of the AP soundpack and all is well again.

I believe the problem with the Blueprint Editor is XP-32-bit - the same thing happened with the release of TS2013 and the Asset Editor, but was solved by a 24010 text entry in the steam_appid.txt. IIRC, RSC mentioned that all in-house PCs are Win7-64, which might explain why the bug wasn't found.

Select your track geometry in the editor

Press Ctrl & C, then Ctrl, Shift & E

an obj file will have been created, although off hand I cant remember where (just do a search for obj files and you should find it)

Guzs,

in what routes do you see the greater draw distance? Tried a few and don't see any difference... (I have all on max in the graphics settings)

Could it be that I have an AMD card?

Hi, what I have found is that on some routes the textures (track and brickwork) inside the tunnels seem to be as bright as anything. I tried reinstalling your tunnel occlusion patch to the RSC S&C and although it makes the cab nice and dark I still seem to be driving through a Blea Moor tunnel as light as a Summer's day beyond the windscreen. On L2B I also find the tunnels to be very bright inside. B2E however with your excellent patch is still as dark as ever inside Whiteball tunnel.

Checking some other 'newer' routes I found GEML & London to Faversham seem to be fine. Something odd here.

Well, downloaded the update and booted up the TrainGame2014....

Nice looking new frontend and pretty music (for now, anyway...). And it seems to work, more or less.

Next, i drove a CS scenario on London to Faversham. Nothing new, new font on the text screens and so on. Though that mouse wheel does zooming, but it was the FOV-thing, nice feature, though. HS1 tunnels weren't dark as they have lights on them, and now they work. Tunnels in the 'old' lines were dark as usual, shame that trains lights doesn't illuminate in tunnels, though knowing British demands for train lights... :D

Timetable was nice and was able to keep it, more or less. Got penalty for sideways going 60mph on a junction that didn't had any other restriction on it (when you join the 'old' line in the first place).

So far, looks nice, but time will show if we get some nice (read: cheaper) stuff via the marketplace.

Oh, and by the wway, did anyone noticed that one can get double discounts on some currently discounted items, like the marias pass route: first the -25% current discount AND -20% from those coupons... :D

And now that remember it, some trains no longer show so bright in tunnels (what's the correct term?), at least the 37x in L2F didn't.

I notice that when in the Menu screens ,Collections/Routes, the only ones showing are the DLC purchased through Steam ones.Did the not appear when we were viewing the same screen in TS2013? I can't remember and its only been a few hours since install. All third party routes still appear listed in the single player route selection screen however.

All up and working here, feels more polished that 2013, nothing broken that I can spot.
I like the headlights.
Happy camper.

Question...
I am driving in TS2014.
How do I quit?

"esc" doesn't help.
I use Windows 8.
