Many thanks for that. Trying to work out at the moment if there's something I've not done correctly or whether there's something else afoot. As far as I know it's supposed to work with a Quick Drive...

Appreciate your feedback - hope you enjoy the route. :)

Cheers

I had exactly the same problem in that after downloading the Wycombe Branch from the Steam Workshop it did not appear in the program. Going into the editor, there appeared to be a Quick Drive scenario for it which does not appear in the Quick Drive menu. However, setting up a test standard scenario, taking one of Brian Yeomans' Falmouth Pannier repaints and a couple of Falmouth Mk1s in a run up the branch from Maidenhead to High Wycombe, it worked fine and then appeared in the scenario menus. It is a very nice route, especially as it has been done without using any custom scenery items. Looking at a 1960s OS map, it looks very accurate too. My only very minor gripe is the 100 mph speed limit in places which seems rather high for a single track branch, but I am sure Bob will fix that in due course.

I hope you can find time soon, Bob, after all these worthwhile distractions, to return and finish off Netherfield V2? I am really looking forward to that! But many thanks for all your efforts.

I'm itching to check out the BE2, but will be content for the time being to using a backup from TS2013. Thank goodness everything else about TS2014 works without a hitch (for me, anyway)! :)

Thanks, Mervyn. With regards to you speed limit comment could you possibly let me know where you've found odd values (maybe via PM) as I've flown over the whole route just now and there's nothing amiss that I could spot... :-?

Netherfield is still on the agenda, and it's now moved up to No.2 on the list. :)

Cheers

I'm seeing some flicker when the distant mountains come into view to the right at around MP 1099, and the same as they appear straight ahead a few miles later. At around MP 1108 - the location shown in your video - it gets as severe as in the video. It's worst when "depth of field" is disabled in the graphics settings. With DoF enabled, the mountains become blurrier and it makes the flicker less noticable in the video, though it's still pretty bad.

However, I then ran my backup copy of TS2013 and saw the exact same thing. Also, the distant mountains also come into view at the same time - draw distance changes don't appear to have an effect on this part of the route.

My graphics card is a GTX 660, BTW, so it's not an ATI-specific issue.
Thank you for your time in replicating the issue and confirming that it is not specific to ATI cards.

Very useful info

Didn't this happen in 2013 though?

I can also confirm that there is 100mph limit starting right after leaving Maidenhead. It switched over to 40mph on the latter half of the route.

Its a lovely route, i always like routes where one can run steam locos and/or early diesels in suitable atmosphere, so thank you is in order :D

Enable Asynckeys seems to not work anymore.

Anyone confirm? I've got it as "EnableAsyncKeys" in my launch options. It worked before the update.

Thanks

Thanks, Make. :D

I'll re-do all the bits that are supposed to be 50mph and hopefully upload the fix later on as it sounds like it's the whole thing at 100mph and not just bits & pieces. :(

Something else that I don't think has been mentioned about the Workshop routes is that they're released in two stages. At the moment we're at stage 1 which is effectively an open beta and once that's through (after an as yet undertermined period of time) the routes becomes 'finalised' and scenarios can be written and uploaded for them.

Cheers

Have you checked it's still there? All my launch options have gone.

In all previous versions of the game EnableAsyncKeys was an oddity in that it didn't need a - before the command

Try it with, ( -EnableAsyncKeys) you never know it may have been brought in to line (I'd check but I'm not at a TS enabled PC till tomorrow)

I emailed RSC..

Sad news.

"I am afraid to tell you that this feature was removed from Train
simualtor 2013. These were removed because they were not suitable with
the core game engine. As a result of this they will not be returned to
the game."

.. I used that to speed up testing as using the playback buttons isn't the same. damn

Flipping back and forth between playing TS2013 and TS2014 at highest detail and comparing screenshots I took in London-Brighton, Marias Pass and Horseshoe Curve, I don't see any graphical change apart from a subtle difference in appearance of the tracks as they fade into the distance (TS2013 has them bolder at a distance while they're more faded in TS2014).

Re the oft-mentioned draw distance improvements, can anyone suggest a route and location where these are obvious? I didn't see any difference in my admittedly brief comparisons - distant mountains appeared much the same in Marias Pass, and "pop up" of scenery seems to occur at much the same distance (e.g. both TS2013 and TS2014, heading out from London Victoria, distant buildings will suddenly pop into view upon reaching the far end of the Battersea Park platform).

I would suggest one of the routes included in retail 2014. They are the ones most likely to take advantage of the new features.
