crumplezone wrote:Quick ? for people who have installed this and testers, I've sent a PM to Matt about it but also wanted to check here.

I've version 2 installed from before and then installed version 3 which Matt sent me via email, the Loughborough station, on the road bridge I want to know weather everyone sees a red sign or is it still a black and white GRAND CENTRAL RAILWAY because at certain camera angles I can see a red sign underneath it which flickers in with grand central railway on and the more official railway symbol the railway has in real life. I don't know if I'm getting some type of confliction between the the two versions or not.
I too had version 2 before, and just installed v3 over the top...

My sign is black & white.... i've tried viewing at different angles, but can't seem to make a red sign showing through.... however, i used the UKTS installer, and i believe it doesn't install assets over the top of themselves, so maybe that is why... if the sign has changed maybe my asset didn't get updated :-?

EDIT: - Oh OK, scratch that, i just made it appear by zooming in the FOV quite some way (with the mouse wheel)

Image

Looks to me like the red sign may be on the original model, and the black & white sign is stuck over the top... Last i saw the black/white sign was accurate

I think it is to do with the zoom level and the game fighting to work out what is "on top". I believe it is called "z fighting" where at distance the game can not work out what item is on top of another if they are very close to each other.

Yes, Matt confirmed with me in PM that the black and white sign is what is supposed to be shown and how it was originally intended but due to zoom levels and other bits and bobs with the simulator it can do what you see in the picture. My questioning was as I though the red sign had been a new update and addition to the version 3.

Incidentally, alot of the odd bugs with rendering seem to be with camera 4 option and are fine when not using that so don't know what is the issue with that camera mode specifically.

Its very nice either way and the detail is stunning, you can see more of my screenshots in the screenshot section under the GCR thread I created.

Help! :o the installer is saying "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have appropriate permissions to access them."? I have unblocked the file in properties and selected "run as administrator" even though I am logged in as such! :-?
Thanks in advance.

Hi, me again, just done another install but still having the same problem. Can I assume I am the only one that didn't have the earlier version that has this problem? Would having an earlier version make any difference? No other texture seems to be missing, and all other routes tried so far in TS2014 seem to work OK. I'm at a lose, but in the end if I can't get it to work I will just have to delete it.

All the best, Richard.

I doubt it. As I said above the pack was tested on a 100% default machine containing only the DLC and freeware packs required. It did NOT have an earlier version installed prior to this version (V3) being installed.

Fair enough, just out of interest, did you include any scenarios or was it just the one free roam that I seem to have?

All the best, Richard.

The route is Quick Drive enabled and there is a scenario competition.

I believe the issue you are having is identical to an issue which affected most people installing v2... it was fixed with a patch of some sort...

See this topic: http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 5#p1592989 and read from the linked post onwards, on the following page is a link to the patched assets, which worked for most people, try installing them (v2_assets03 - http://www.uktrainsim.com/filelib-info. ... leid=29895 )

That issue was caused by a missing texture called "SuperSleeper" or something very similar. It is used to render the 2D sleepers on points. That file is definitely NOT missing from the installer. The problem is that there appears to be a missing file or two. Not sure which files and the installer includes 1000's of files. Working out which texture files are missing over a forum thread is almost impossible. I have offered an alternative remote diagnosis but (understandably) rikwesson does not want to go down this route.

At the moment I am struggling to work out what files are missing as the pack was tested on a 100% default machine with only the required DLC and the track worked fine. Given this I can not understand how some files are missing on someone else's computer.

Hi, thanks Firstborn for the link to the version 2 patch, I have just added the patch and I now have sleepers and points :D , however almost all the points are missing the switching lever (only found two so far with a lever) Are most of the points mean't to be this way? Also the Turkish 8f is missing the number textures, is there a fix for this?

All the best, Richard

Hi,
Thanks for a great route. I have a problem especially at leicester with people on the platform being half buried.
Being newish to train sim I probably could fix this in the editor if I knew how. Any suggestions??
Regards
Dave

I have just yesterday installed and run this route, having not previously used it at all. While I'm not interested in running on preserved lines in a major way on TS, I thought I'd give it a go and I'm very pleased that I did; it really is a wonderfully detailed little route that has been built to an extremely high standard. Thank you to everyone concerned for making it available.

The people below platforms is an issue with platforms on a gradient. I think (80% certain) that the new features in TS2014 can prevent this if you enable them on each platform.

Started playing with these on the TPR route.

Smarty do you want to do a test. Which ever platform you see this on in world editor double click it. A slide out panel on the right should have a "generate" button at the bottom. Click it then click anywhere on the screen to deselect the platform then save the route

Then see if it is better. Might have to save and reload the route as not sure if the change is applied until route is reloaded.
