Like tnleeuw01, I find the overall appearance nicer with TSX on. I'm almost always using an overcast, stormy, foggy or otherwise inclement weather environment and TSX on seems to lend a dark, gritty mood especially effective with steam locos. Because of this, I'll leave shadows off, as you probably wouldn't see hard shadows on a cloudy day anyway. I'm using an i7 @ 3.6Ghz, 16Ghz ram and a 2Ghz ATI card.
Best Regards,

This is the thread explaining how to fix it DIY:

This is a file uploaded to the library with the fixes already done:

Does this fix no longer work in TS2014?
I applied it last night, following the install notes, cleared cache and restarted TS, but this made no different for me. :(

Anyone else tried it..?

On TSX textures with TrainDecal.fx shader look good, TSX off these textures look dark/grey (RSC knows about it(but don't want to fix it), and suggests to use TSX).
Who have problems with blurred distant objects, in TSX mode, should switch "bloom" and "depth of field" effects off.

It baffles me why they dont want to fix this or the whiteout summer effect on certain routes (which Im sure their is a simple fix for already through RWtools). You only have to look at most of the "live" screenshots on steam to notice a lot of people are running TSX off and I have to admit the AA is much better when off and that huge extra fps jump just makes it smooth as silk.. For me the 30-40 with TSX is fine but even I can tell the mouse and camera movement is just so much better with TSX off.. ANd I never get those odd dips into the 20s which are really noticeable..

I don't have screenshots now at hand of TSX on vs off -- but at least when driving at night, oh man, the difference is just SO huge, incomparable, and wonderful -- man, it kills my framerates but H-H at night just looks SO good with TSX ON!

I've sent a bug report to RSC few months ago, and the wrote they won't fix the shader issue, and suggested if it's a problem, then i should use TSX mode.

I was running a scenario on H-H and the flicker of the evening sun coming thru the trees was getting anoying.
So I changed the weather to stormy and there is no sun visable but I still have the shadows of the trees and sunlight flickering thru the window.
