This sucks on many levels in honesty. Absolutely loved the endless work you have put in, your solo efforts of the HD revamps of cabs and such were pure magic. A shame to see the end of an era as it were. I wish you the best in your future endeavors sir!!

Is it even possible to gift someone your stuff if you've used it and no longer want it? The reason I ask is I've given up on railworks and I have most of the UK and US stuff that's been released in the last 3 years that I'll gift to Bill if possible. And in return if he'll like to get me the PMDG 777 I would not say no 8)

Once upon a time the rule was you could keep all the complimentary DLC and use as desired as it would work perfectly still but if you lost it etc you couldnt retrieve it via Steam anymore and would never be updated.. The problem is now that the DRM RSC use that matches DLC on your PC vs what is on record with Steam that you actually own or given complimentary. Soon as they yanked access to the beta branch all that complimentary DLC instantly became null and void. As far as the Steam client is concerned it all looks illegal now.

I'm sure it must be "getroundable" if they put their minds to it.

Derek reached out to me.. He explained what happened and well.. It boils down to business is business and they had to do some housekeeping. He's going to try to help me a bit so I'm not completely starting from scratch again. Class act as usual. If PJ ever steps down and Derek takes the helm I'll be the first to fly over and apply for a job.. Another developer who shall remain nameless (because he wants to remain nameless) also got in contact with me and offered one of his products. So.. We shall see.. Depending on that.. As for the "Donation drive" here.. It warms my heart and that kind of community is why I still come to UKTS and don't bother with U.S. items anymore.. Depsite all the bickering, and fighting, when it comes down to it the members here know how to help their fellow man (and woman) out..

Stick around, when I can afford (damn sales on Steam!) I will gladly throw a piece of DLC your way :).

We'll see what happens. I'm really sorta torn and devastated about this.. I was always given the impression what happened would never happen.. I mean I would never have blown all the cash on APH loot if I knew 99% of it would be useless in the future.. All scenario packs are now useless, Class 90 useless since it relies on WCML and all but one sound pack useless. I feel sorta lied too and betrayed in a way.. I trashed the . out of certain products from RSC and the way RSC handled things.. But I also gave a ton back and I know for a fact because of stuff I did gained them a few extra sales.. Not an ego.. Just truth.. I called it like I saw it and I did the same exact thing when I beta tested for them. I always stayed bluntly honest.. Derek and Adam were the only two people that ever got me to calm down and relax.. Because I respected them. (I respected others but Derek was my main contact and Adam (at the time) ran the show in beta). Going out of my way to get SW1500 cab photos from Bennett Levins collection. I'm not employed and struggling to find work.. I went back to school in my off time thinking it would open more employment chances for me and well. It didn't..

And sorry but.. My pride refuses to let me become a charity case.. I give.. I hate receiving.. I have a huge complex about anyone spending money on me..

*sigh* Sorry for my rambling. I should stop..

What happens if you delete the data/steam folder and run Steam in offline mode?

Also, can't you just clone and rename the routes using RWTools??

And in a couple of weeks time you will get three routes for free anyway!

John A

EDIT: I know you said you don't like US stuff and neither do I but I would seriously be grateful to gift this to you on your Steam account just to get rid of it all so that when I do a verification it doesn't reappear!!! :D :D Cajon Pass, Sherman Hill, the New York thingy with the wobbly track and other routes whose names escape me.... Foul ugly US diesels, Monstrous ridiculous Steam stuff like the Big Boy and Challenger, vile huge freight trucks.... ( Horseshoe Curve seems to have disappeared a good while back so l no longer have it thankfully. Where It went I know not. We just need your Steam username.

Don't think of it as charity Styckx mate. Think of it as being software freely distributed just in the same spirit as Freeware is offered by people like you - and all legitimately. It's a positive way of helping someone out. Most people can't contribute to the trainsimming community because maybe they lack certain skills, but this IS an opportunity to do what they can. It's just in another form. Please seriously consider it Styckx, and forget that "c" word charity!

No it doesn't - you can run it an Any Electrified route - and there are some good free ones on UKTS and RailSim.de

When you stop and think about it then most of us are a bit guilty of falling into the trap of losing our sense of reality over this game. I've become painfully aware of this recently and will now be giving myself a serious reality check and a nice long break!

A complex virtual world has built up around this product, we've gone from just a game that people play for fun and with a nice big wishlist to now having our own celebrities, villains, global leaders, politicians, heirarchy, political systems, rules and laws, police force, media, demonstrators, pro-regime activists, businesses, charity, rewards, punishments, critics, creators, developers, artists and so on...

Most of these factions play out via the various forums and mediums like Facebook etc. It's incredibly easy to become sucked into this world and spend more time engaging in these activities than actually playing the simulator itself! It's for this reason that I'm stepping out of Railworksland for now and I'm going to use my limited leisure time to actually have some leisure time with a whole new simulator, DCS.

But the accompanying Mk3s are practically non-existent without WCML-N

I understand your sadness, but I would advise you not to stop with TS2013/14.
The only one that suffers from that is yourself and you will miss the joy of Train simming.
So reconsider your decision.

Yes, but not every train the Class 90's worked were formed of Mk3's.
Apart from freight services the locos used to work push-pull trains with Mk2 stock.
