Re: RSC Deltic Prototype DP1
Thanks for the review, I'll be giving this a wide berth. It's all about the detail, failure to address the long disputed lack of a nose view from the cab is a complete show stopper for me. As blatantly obvious as missing the nose off your face! Having recently been in the cab of 2 Deltics, I can categorically confirm that the nose is visible when sat in the drivers seat.growler37 wrote:Hi, this is probably the worst model that RSC have ever created! it is very poor even by their low standards, its the wrong shape, for starters, the driving position is too low, in the rain, the only way to see the track ahead is to stick your head out the window! because the wipers dont wipe the tiny part of the screen you can see out of! RSC probably did this on purpose, to disguise the fact that they couldnt be bothered to put the bonnet in the cabview, the cabview itself,is plain awfull! but reflects RSC,s "quick job big buck ethos".
I would warn anybody to steer well clear of this, and save your money! i wish i had.

This is completely off my radar now, even in a sale.
Re: RSC Deltic Prototype DP1
I am going to have ask the obvious, anyone seen the Dp1 up close and personal? Sat in the cab? Not trying to be rude, but I want accuracy. From the pictures I have seen the nose was not visible and I don't personally want something inaccurate just to satisfy perceptions.jimmyshand wrote:Thanks for the review, I'll be giving this a wide berth. Has anyone adjusted the seat position in RW Tools? Is the nose then visible?SuperTux wrote:I am going to have ask the obvious, anyone seen the Dp1 up close and personal? Sat in the cab? Nope or else they would have found out you can see it.pilot37 wrote:

Re: RSC Deltic Prototype DP1
Here's a video from the cab, still not convinced it would be visible when driving:

Is it me or RSC using lower resolution textures? Just seems the cab could have benefited from higher resolution.

You're welcome... You aren't square with the chair but it's either this, or clipping...

Thanks for the quick update for those who want the nose Bill
. I like your picture, I can see you being a 'Ramsey' when it comes to DLC.
Re: RSC Deltic Prototype DP1
You're welcome.
It seems RSC had the right intentions but the walls of the model would have clipped into the camera if they put you directly over the chair and high enough to see.. Even RSC's default camera slides you off the chair.. They had to make a judgement call I guess.
So I moved it over a tad more, moved it up, and forward a bit.

Re: RSC Deltic Prototype DP1
I have to agree based on this video. Sitting flush in the chair, I don't think the driver could see much at all, never mind the bonnet.SuperTux wrote:Here's a video from the cab, still not convinced it would be visible when driving:

Re: RSC Deltic Prototype DP1
Thanks for the news on the nose Bill. This one will now be promoted from the dustbin to my sale list!
Re: RSC Deltic Prototype DP1
So now that the nose question is resolved, have they given up on field diverts with this model; or does it still suffer from 10,000 hp wheelslip when the divert kicks in at 80 mph or so?

Re: RSC Deltic Prototype DP1
This thread is an embarrassment for lots of people. Slagging off RSC for deliberately not including the nose in cabview and then when it is shown to be there and people just hadn't bothered looking properly, instantly switch to a new complaint about the field divert that nobody has previously mentioned.
