Hi,
As a post-Sept 2012 TS2013 customer, does anybody know if there is a way I can obtain the now-deleted 'Foliage Pack'. Is it included with any other content?

I posted your question to Just Trains.
It will likely not be the answer you want.
This is the issue we face with new add-ons and why we have said that the route is only for people who had TS2012 and were automatically upgraded. Unfortunately the previous default content was removed for new users when TS2013 launched, and it seems the foliage pack is no longer available, despite being widely used in add-on routes – for people with the US, EU and Foliage pack content it should work fine, but for people who can’t get the foliage we’re hoping to come up with an alternative option. We’re going to wait until TS2014 is released though to know exactly what is required and if the situation changes when that version of the simulator is released.
26th September is just 5 weeks away.

Thanks Peter.
My frustration is mostly with RailSimulator.com. Even though I only came to this sim in February this year, it has become something of an obsession with me, rekindling a childhood passion and consuming vast swathes of my free time (and disposable income!) Since February, I've gradually come to appreciate just how much of a mess was made of this title in September 2012 but I do find myself wondering why a key developer like Just Trains would continue with an major, eagerly awaited new release like '3 Corner Route' using content that has been unavailable to a significant portion of the TS2013 community for nearly a year. As I said elsewhere, I would rather have waited a bit longer for some new scenery objects to be created than to not be able to use the route at all.
5 weeks... I'm sure by then there'll be lots more to complain about once TS2014 arrives...

If things get desperate, I do still have a few copies of RailWorks3:TS2012 DVD in stock here which includes the earlier default routes and the Foliage pack.

Had to double check but if you've got WCML you
DO have all the prerequisites
US community Assets
European Assets
Foliage Pack

Western Lines Of Scotland (Port Road) uses these assets as do many 3rd party routes.

Thank you, I will let our support team know. We thought some Steam DLC included multiple default packs, but no list of exactly which ones. Does anyone know of others that are confirmed to have all those packs?
Thanks,
Simon

Just picked up off the other forum that this foliage pack is supplied with the following routes:
WCML North
Portsmouth Direct Line
Bristol to Exeter
Northeast Corridor
Donner Pass
Cologne Dusseldorf
Great Western Main Line
Somerset & Dorset
East Coast Main Line
Ruhr Sieg
Cajon Pass
Western Lines Of Scotland
So hopefully most people will already have a copy of it.

Interesting statement....for many the upgrade to TS2013 was the best thing since the last best thing since bread came sliced.
Would you care to elaborate?

[offtopic]While the technical advancements delivered with TS2013 were very welcome, its hard to argue that changing the default content (or at least removing previously default content) wasn't a pretty bad idea and a "selfish" move on RSC's part as it primarily hits third party developers (i.e. those who can't include RSC assets).[/offtopic]
I'll probably hold off on this route until a few third-party scenarios are out, but it looks like another great continental European route that will be added to my collection sooner or later. I've gone for years with little interest in any of the non-UK routes being released but they are coming thick and fats at the moment!

Granted, but that doesn't stop 3rd party developers steering folk to where the assets can be obtained, as 'give aways' with routes. Looking at Andys list of DLC he would seem to be well covered in the 'assets that were default but now cost nothing when buying a route' department.

Yes, as PaulH2 says, it's the chaotic situation with content that I'm only now, after 8 months, getting to grips with. I suppose the standout example would be the Class 101 of which I understand there are now 3 packs, none of which are cross-compatible and everyone seems to use the one you can't buy anymore in their scenarios (perhaps out of protest?). Isn't there a similar situation with the Class 08? I also have 3rd party scenarios calling up items from an RSC Class 37 pack that is no longer available - and then I find myself wondering why I have 3 Class 66s? And so on... Seems mad that there are even scenarios in the Workshop that you can't buy all the content for, even if you had the money. Finding out about RW_Tools was a revelation and I can get by now - even if sometimes I feel I spend more time swapping assets in and out of scenarios than I actually do driving them. Maybe if I left my TS2013 installation exactly as Steam delivered it and denied the existence of 3rd party content, maybe I wouldn't think things were in such a bad state - but I doubt I'd find the sim anywhere near as compelling.

As someone who joined this mad parade with RW2, default meant Kuju. My first DLC purchase was Doncaster Works, which gave me the Foliage Pack and the AP Station Pack. There was a certain amount of consternation when the station buildings were removed from the DLC list, which has been addressed by the creator who made these assets available as a free download. Could the same action be made with the Foliage Pack? Speaking of vegetation, can anyone tell me where the Embankment asset first appeared?
