Is there a way for the older models to respond to the PZB in basic form?
The vR 120, RSC 118, 143, 151 normally sound an alert at a Speed Board or a restricted signal but they are all quiet on this route.
Thanks
Peter

Re: PZB on Hamburg - Hannover
Hi Peter,
and there should be a sound produced when passing a speed board? According to what I know there should be none and only speed boards of 80km/h or less require PZB Wachsaming them (silently).
Am I wrong?

Re: PZB on Hamburg - Hannover
Hi,
If you drive on Hagen - Siegen or one of the older German routes with the original 101, 143 & 151 then passing a Speed warning sign or a Vr0 signal you get an audible sound in the cab.
I was wondering why passing a similar signal on Hamburg - Hannover does not seen to generate a sound?
Peter

Re: PZB on Hamburg - Hannover
I think that this route (And Munich-Augsburg) has a newer PZB implementation, with newer signals.
I've seen that the trains from ChristTrains have received updates to be compatible with the PZB on these newer routes.
My conclusion is that other older rolling stock will also need to receive similar updates.
I guess that the signalling system in RailWorks is not sufficiently modular in setup, which is a bit of a pity. It seems that locomotives need a fair bit of scripting added to them for supporting these various signalling systems, instead of being able to 'just' link in to a globally defined signalling system of given capability.
... well, perhaps they can, but the newer PZB might need new stuff defined in the locomotive itself which cannot be done with the older PZB implementation, such as new cablights and levers etc, which is why the updates might need to be made to the rolling stock...
I don't know much about RailWorks scripting so I'm firmly into speculative territory here!
But it is for sure that the older and newer PZB implementations are not compatible and rolling stock needs to be updated for it.
It's quite a pity that this hasn't been done for the older rolling stock supplied with older German routes. Or that these haven't been updated. But such thing cost time, and resources, and therefore money. Money which cannot be spent on creating newer routes and rolling stock. It's always a trade-off...

Re: PZB on Hamburg - Hannover
This may be due to the older German routes and loko's emulating PZB on top of the British Railway safety system, AWS, I think749006 wrote:Hi,
