Bishop Auckland - Darlington update

Post by 31466 »

I have just completed a scenario on this route, the first one since it was recently updated to TS2013 standard. What I wasn't expecting was that there were so many changes! Virtually every speed limit has been increased and a new siding has appeared.

Are these changes accurate? They do seem very high in places, for example:

40mph through Darlington North Road (was 20mph)
40mph entering Bishop Auckland station (was 20mph)
70mph in several places between stations (was max 45mph throughout)

I have travelled on this route and don't remember getting anywhere near 70mph!

I didn't think it was that easy to change speed limits due to messing up schedules in scenarios?

These new speed limits may be correct but they do seem so high for the route. Can anyone confirm that they are correct? If they are then they were very wrong in the original release!

There was no mention of speed limit changes in the update brief so I am a bit surprised.

Looks like the old values are correct after mooching through a Network Rail section plan.

Sounds ominous. I found a few speed limit changes had crept into the Bristol-Exeter route when we were updating it. I managed to fix those before the patch goes public. Seems something may have happened to this route. Have you told JT yet?

I will contact them now and see what they say. If the revised speeds remain I will have to reinstall the route and not install the update. Luckily I have the boxed version so I can revert.

Hi,

If these have changed by mistake, and if we know what has changed and needs changing back (and what to) then I'm sure we'll do so. I don't think anyone has reported the issue to us directly though, unless it has been in the last few days, so please do provide us with as much info as possible via our support team and they can forward on to Alex and the development team to look at what needs to be fixed.

Thanks,

Simon

Just to let everyone know that I contacted Just Trains directly and they have replied saying an update will be released "as soon as possible".

Good to see this sorted quickly. 8)
