For anyone interested, new class 37 sound pack available from Armstrong Powerhouse.
They do sound good but I've not long bought the other 37 pro pack

Yes, bought it - excellent as usual.
BTW, this sound-set is for the Mirrlees powered 37/9's only (of which there were 4) with several reskins
Railfreight Grey 37901 'Mirrlees Pioneer' / 37902 / 37903 / 37904
Railfreight Metals 37901 'Mirrlees Pioneer' / 37902 'British Steel Llanwern' / 37903 / 37904
Transrail 37901 'Mirrlees Pioneer'
and 2 scenarios included (Bristol - Exeter & Great Western Mainline routes) for the 'normal' price of £4.99.
Bargain!!

Yes, a great addition to the fleet and sound really good too... The 37/9s that AP have done are really good skins too - though be aware that they are skins for the S&C iteration of the Class 37.
The scenarios are very interesting and I look forward to having more joy from these 37/9s in due course as well.
A real bargain, and 5 star quality into the mix too.

Excellent news!
Very frustrating when new products persist in using non-available, but required, assets.

This is a great pack, but I do have a grumble. It's nothing to do with the overall excellent quality of everything in the pack, and at the price it's a snip, BUT I do wish 3rd party developers wouldn't rely on additional DLC for scenarios to work. I appreciate the concept that if I'm buying a
Scenario pack, then it is up to me to make sure I have the necessary items, but surely the scenarios included with a
Sound pack are to showcase that feature, and there could even be a possibility that folk could be put off purchasing it because of this reason. I'm all for authenticity, but I would have thought that a couple of scenarios to demonstrate, in this case new sounds, that are dependent only on default stock (except of course the necessary S&C for the loco) would do the job just as well. I would add in their defense that AP are not the only ones to do this.
Regarding this pack, listening and watching the vid on the site I'm very impressed with the sounds, and the reskins look excellent. In this respect AP are second to none - as always!

dependent only on default stock
But, there is no such thing....
In this case it would have to be the S&C route + route stock

..... Which I did actually mention at the end of the first paragraph, and I did say in this case

Hmmm, unsure Ken, I have many of the AP packs, but, never looked at what extra DLC was required to play the accompanying scenarios on, it didn't stop me from buying the sound pack, at less than a fiver each, it wasn't a show stopper, but, I understand your thoughts. I wondered why, if we need the S&C for the reskins of the Class 37, one of the scenarios wasn't set on that particular route instead of Bristol - Exeter, for example, only Richard knows the answer, and if it's a trade secret, then, we'll never know.......lol
Cheerz. Transport Steve.

I remember vividly the first time I ever encountered a slug. It was at a Dartmoor Railway diesel gala several years ago with my son. At the time I never knew that some 37's had been fitted with different engines and so I just assumed it was a regular 37 on loan for the gala.
With our heads sticking out the window going through the road tunnel up from Okehampton to Meldon, we nearly laid flippin eggs when that beast opened up to full bore!
I clocked on that something was very different about this monster and did my research, finding out it was a Mirlees engine. What a way to discover this unique and awesome sound, completely by surprise!
I've always loved the growl of regular 37's above all other locos but the slugs are just something else, insanely loud and totally unique.

That was the Ruston engined 37s(37905 to be exact) fortunately both Ruston engined 37/9s are preserved, only 905 works though so perhaps Richard will one day do the Ruston 37/9 pro pack to go with the Mirrlees ones... The pack is excellent though, the reskins are superb quality too...

Steve - Depends as I've wondered if 37/9's have been in the Oxford-Paddington area before, wouldn't surprise me. I think that is why a scenario wasn't done for the S&C, as I'm quite unsure if there ever even worked that far north before. IIRC the 37/9's were allocated to the Western region...
I have yet to hear one of these in the flesh, both Ruston and Mirrlees types. I have seen 37906 a handful of times, but she's never been on. Everytime I go to the SVR on a diesel gala I can attend, I try to plan in a spin on 37906, and every time I've been there she doesn't work, but works when I'm not there!

Fortunately for you the MHR has both variants for the next few months in the form of resident 37905 and visiting 37901...

Are the loco physics notably different?
I think this will be a "must have" for me - good stock for my S Wales route. I have main line track in to Cardiff at the mo, but haven't tackled Canton just yet

But, I can see a line up of these will be required!
