Ways to slim down the Kuju file?

Does anyone have any tips as to things to delete or move from the Kuju file in order to make it much smaller? I was thinking about trying to find the former default routes assets that are in the folder and deleting them seeing as they have their own separate files now(would that work?)..

The old default routes still call their assets from the Kuju folder. The new folders for them under the RSC folder are mainly environmental files, like weather.

There are probably better ways, but this is how I did it.
Rename the Kuju railvehicle folders and back them up somewhere.
Do a verify cache so that the folders are replaced by Steam with just the default assets.
Use RWTools to list all the rolling stock needed by your scenarios. The list is very long but you're only interested in the Kuju items.
Transfer back, from your renamed folders, only those assets that RWTools says you need.
Takes a while for Steam and RWTools to do their thing, but the bit you have to do, transferring back the assets, I found went very quickly.
Hope that helps,

personally I copied the Kuju folder and renamed it. Then cleaned all of the British repaints out of it. The existing one I cleaned out all the non British repaints. Then I just rename the folders before starting the game eg when running British one is Kuju the other Kujude, when German it is Kuju and Kujugb. Works fine for me. I have a desktop shortcut to the Railworks folder to make it easier.

I basically have the same as above ,now having five kuju folders within the Assets folder each named Kujuus , Kujuuk etc as well as my big Kuju folder which is now a whopping 13 gig (believe it or not,a large number of my routes still work fine using it) I first try my newly added route or scenario using my big folder,if its a no go then I select another kuju folder depending on region run it through RWTools to copy over any files it may need and this works for me no problem.

I like the brute force and ignorance method - just delete the entire folder then verify cache. No faffing about required

Thanks for all the hints, I split the rolling stock(couplings and all) into a seperate folder and created another one specifically for the KujuUS section which has slimmed that folder down quite a bit...

So a question for those in the know.
Does splitting the US routes in to a separate Kuju folder make a difference?
When the game accesses the folder there are separate RailSimulator and RailSimulatorUS folders and normally both would not be ticked - unless you were running US Locos/stock on a European route & v.v

Except is not uncommon for routes to use scenery etc from both which then loads everything in each folder, stock included.
