Well I purchased it and applied the fixes etc.

Are ther any English instructions. The German ones are very confusing.

I cannot see any explanation or keys re the changing gear. I have no idea what the B typhoon is and I roll a few yards down the track and get a forced braking and an alarm. O pressing of PZB or Sifa or Q or anything else makes any diffeence.

How on earth do you drive it?

Thanks Dave

Had done a google translate and then found the English language flag up in the corner.

Fine as far as it goes. However as soon as I try to drive with PZB the 500Hz and the 1000Hz light come on, the train emergency brakes and the alarm sounds.

Fiddling with the brakes eventually frees me to drive again (I did not pass any signals by the way) the alarm will not stop.

Tried, space, Q, page dwn, Page Up, End, Home, Enter, Delete but nothing works.

Oh well will either use as an AI or drive without PZB.

I'm not an expert on PZB but are you talking about the 2 blue lights flashing continuously?
If so that's a monitoring(restrictive) mode that you need to either obey, (stay below (40 I think)) or clear with the END key.
If you clear it though and the next signal IS at caution, you'll get an emergency application. If you've got any of RSCs newer German stuff there is an applicable section in there

Hi Dave

No it is the red and yellow lights flashing.

Never mind will keep PZB off on this loco although I use it fine on other stock. Great in cab sounds.

Red and yellow lights are for 500 and 1000 magnets, respectively. I think when they are flashing there was a violation detected and emergency braking is in effect. You did not wachsam a magnet, passed 2000 or went too fast. It may also be that PZB is buggy on this loco, I have seen some complaints about it on the web. Still did not have much time to test the loco, so cannot tell. Hope it is not the case.

Not sure what violation there could have been as I was not passing any signals. Also nothing cleared the fault either.

Never mind - if PZB a bit flakey I will leave it off.

I recently purchased this so I could run the "Alternate" scenarios for the Three Country Corners route by the original authors. They give more realistic stock, and some really really gate rolling stock for free ware is linked that makes this route truly feel different then other DB routes. (I can not recommend this scenario pack enough by the way, they are a huge improvement over the originals in ascetics.) I am having some issues that are not full explained by the online read me for the Railtraction BR 218.4 at least not in English, maybe it's clearer in German?

1.) This is a small thing but is there really no way to key the horn? I am very irritated by them making the space bar the SIFA. I play TS2013 a lot with my son. He's 2 and LOVES honking the horn while I drive. Every train in the game has it's horn on the space bar, was it really nesc to change this? I much rather it be q like the Tuarus....small thing I know, but all the difference in the world to my 2 yr old. The boy needs his spacebar horn! Anyway to change this?

2.) Dynamic Breaks..... I am VERY confused on this, it appears if you are going too slow they will not be switched on, and if you are going to fast they will not work, what is the precise window of top and low speeds they can be engaged in passenger and freight? The read me says 20 and 40 is that the low side? if so what is the high?

3.) Perhaps I am making some fatal error, but I can't seem to change the gears from passenger to freight.....when I open the door to the switch on left, the switch will not turn, what am I doing wrong?

4.) I notice when I click up on the throttle/regulator it clicks up one notch, but when I key to go down one it starts going all the way down to 0??? Is this just me?

Otherwise love this loco, drives with a good feel, sounds good, and looks great!! Just trying to understand how to run it better.
