Steam Sale - speculation and conjecture

Re: Steam Sale - speculation and conjecture
The hardest bit is the waiting. I don't get paid till Friday and I've nothing spare before hand so I have to patiently watch and hope none of the prices get revised before the 19th.
I've changed my wishlist to be just stock now, no routes as they still take a big chunk, especially compared to the Challenger&Big Boy twin pack at £4!!

Well I have to confess I swallowed my pride and forked out for the V2 class 66s. Have to admit, so far I'm quite impressed with them

Re: Steam Sale - speculation and conjecture
Went and got the Challenger, Big Boy and Sherman Hill bundle last night. Seeing a Challenger trundle through Kingmoor is hilarious
Re: Steam Sale - speculation and conjecture
The ICE 2, Class 465 and Class 377 didn't see much of a decrease in price in the sale. Are they worth it at the current sale price, or should I leave it and hope Thanksgiving/Christmas sale they fare better?

Re: Steam Sale - speculation and conjecture
I got the BR423 & BR232, I was after the ICE 2 but I'm not paying the price, wish they would do it at 50% off.

Re: Steam Sale - speculation and conjecture
If you are planning on buying Hamburg - Hannover the ICE2 is probably not worth buying as it looks like it might come with the route. Otherwise I'll wait until the sale price comes down.

Re: Steam Sale - speculation and conjecture
Same here - so far, all I've bought are the BR232 and BR423. I bought the ICE pack in the last sale, which represented good value even though I already had ICE 3.smarty2 wrote:I got the BR423 & BR232, I was after the ICE 2 but I'm not paying the price, wish they would do it at 50% off.

Re: Steam Sale - speculation and conjecture
I thought long and hard about items to buy in the Steam sale.......and then bought the SSS 7F Enhancement Pack!
With at least 32 paid-for routes (including core) and I don't know how many loco downloads in my collection I still have many activities I haven't even attempted.
I did about 800 hours in my first year (RW2 days), but still haven't doubled that.
Funny, I used to want everything I didn't have and now I have more than I get time to use.
Anyway, some good deals there for those just starting out...

Re: Steam Sale - speculation and conjecture
Been a good sale to flesh things out a bit, at least for me anyway. Now to find more time and piece together some scenarios. Two done and on the WS now, another languishing, one promised for a mate who loves the ECML...need more hours in a day!

Re: Steam Sale - speculation and conjecture
My Final Tally....
FortKent to EagleLake DLC
Portland Terminal DLC
The Woodhead Line
Donner Pass Southern Pacific
Class 76 77 Pack
Cab Forward
SD40-2N HighNose Locomotives Debundle
Marias Pass
SD70ACe Locomotives Debundle
GE44 TON BM
Norfolk Southern Heritage Twin Pack
A long time ago when I was but a teen I went to a store and they had accidentally marked an entire display box of trading card packs as the price of 1 pack.....not being as ummm civically minded as I am today I hurriedly purchased it, without correcting their pricing error, and half ran to my beat up ole first car. I might have felt worse, save I knew many people who had worked there and been treated pretty badly, the business went out of business as it was pretty bad company all around. Still I remember that feeling of wanting to click my heels, as I ran with my purchase. It's that feeling when you know you made out with just an insanely good deal....this time at least I have no guilt. I made out like a bandit, and it's completely legit....!

Re: Steam Sale - speculation and conjecture
My one and only purchase was the London to Faversham less 80%, which by the way was the top seller. No regrets as I already had everything I wanted.

Intel i5-2500K 3.3GHz Quad Core, Asus P8Z 68-V LE MB, Asus GTX 1060 Strix 6GB Gaming graphics card, Windows 10 Home 64 bit, 16gb Corsair Vengeance DDR3 ram, Viewsonic VX2452mh LED 1080P HD Monitor. Seagate Barracuda 1 TB HD, Seagate Firecuda 2 TB HD,
Re: Steam Sale - speculation and conjecture
Well, as a relatively new user of TS2013, I picked up a fair bit of new content. Targeted mainly at what I needed to run scenarios (lots of units, which I'm not really keen on), but also some of what I wanted in the stable
Routes - WLOS - only 40% off, but the £14.99 was acceptable to me
Locos - 31, 33, FL66, 86, Jubilee, B1 and J94
MUs - 156, 390, 325, 158, 101
Would have liked the Jinty and 2MT, but they would have put up the bill significantly
That little lot should open up a large number of new scenarios!
Hopefully my TS install wont now do a meltdown...
