the 423 is worth every penny in my opinion,
make sure you download the cab view fix from rail-sim.de,
you will then sit a bit further from the windshield, enough to very realistically operate the brake and throttle control.

Is it worth it even without the TTB sounds or TTB sounds is a must?

Imo TTB sounds are a must.

Try this. http://rail-sim.de/railsimnew/index.php ... m-view-fix
I use chrome and that translates automatically with no problems downloading.

hi,
download it without a translator. I think those may block the downloads.
the ttb sounds are the icing on the cake. if you can't spend, basically 30 euros in one shot, get it without the ttb sounds.... for the time being. i sound like i work for rsc but really it is a great model. I use rw tools and inserted in other scenarios, launch party for instance works very well with the 423.

Hard to decide... perhaps this could help me a lot: could someone link a youtube video with a BR 423 WITHOUT TTB sounds? I see a lot of videos there, all with OK sound for me, but I don't know whether they are TTB or not. Many thanks.

It is worth it even with the default sounds, you can always update the sound at a later stage.

couldn't agree more!
it seems i lost the last post i was writing, but i meant to say that unfortunately i don''t know how to link a video.

basically you can hear the ttb423 sounds in a ttb143 pluspack update presentation video where the ttb423 is a AI only traffic guest.

They are quite different.

In UK terms it's like the difference between a 444 and a 455.
The DB 440 is a long distance unit with on 4 doors on a 4 car set compared with 12 doors per side making it a local S-Bahn unit.

Both are found on Munich - Augsburg.

440 is used for Regional services, 423 for S-Bahn.

And I have to say, there is a massive quality gap between the two. The 440 looks no better than an average MSTS model, the 423 is brilliant however

yes i noticed that too, the 440 headlights look like colored cardboard cutouts glued onto the front end, not convincing.

Ok, I purchased BR423 yesterday, but did not have much time to see how it performs yet :)

As for 440, the model may be another issue, but as for me - the first moment I saw its description I noticed there's no pzb or lzb... so it is a no go for me for sure.

It is the same with BR232 - if it would have pzb, I would definitely get it in the sale now.
Too bad RSC's models always miss something: BR423 - inferior sounds, 232 no pzb... :(
