London Tram unresponsive to key commands

Post by stephenholmes »

Good afternoon everyone
I wonder if a member knows how to sort out the following problem
I have discovered that Richard Scotts London tram is unresponsive to key commands
If I have the F4 hud open I can use that to select forward or reverse but the throttle and brake springs back to neutral
This is the first time I've had a problem with these
I had previously used them in Rail Simulator which they were originally created for
Is this problem an input mapper issue?
Thanks in advance for any assistance trying to rectify this problem
Kind regards Stephen

Hi Stephen, I've had a quick look in the tram bin files and it seems that the instruction for a stop go combined controller has been added after the original separate regulator and reverser, but the instructions for the separate controls haven't been changed from stopgo to intermediate / expert or removed, so you have a conflict between the controls.

Hi Stephen, if you open up the TramE1.xml file also No46, opencab,RehabNo34 & RehabNo40 with context & reserz afterwards or the Bin file with rwtools (easier!) & scroll down to line 570 in the 2nd regulator section

<cControlContainerBlueprint-cInteriorIrregularNotchedLever d:id="32729080">
<ElementName d:type="cDeltaString">Regulator</ElementName>
<DifficultyType d:type="cDeltaString">StopGo</DifficultyType>
<PickTransformName d:type="cDeltaString">throttle</PickTransformName>
<MovementType d:type="cDeltaString">MoveLeftRight</MovementType>
<AnalogInputSensitivity d:type="sFloat32">0.750000</AnalogInputSensitivity>
<DigitalInputSensitivity d:type="sFloat32">0.750000</DigitalInputSensitivity>
<AnimationName d:type="cDeltaString"></AnimationName>

and change difficulty type to Expert - then line 629 and also change the stopgo to Expert it should work but don't forget to back up 1st and clear blueprints! :)

<DifficultyType d:type="cDeltaString">StopGo</DifficultyType>

Not as easy as I thought - Lots of varients & throttle animation tied to combined animation - could be a while! :(

Actually it was rather more simple than I thought - the xml files in the folder aren't the right ones for the Bins! When I looked in the bins proper, all that was required was to null the input mapper values & it works fine. Still got to modify a lot of bins though!

<StopgoRemapper d:type="cDeltaString"></StopgoRemapper>
<IntermediateRemapper d:type="cDeltaString"></IntermediateRemapper>
<ExpertRemapper d:type="cDeltaString"></ExpertRemapper>
