Well, its out... http://store.steampowered.com/app/222579/

Not really much of a mention about any upgrades, apart from upgraded textures and 2013 features.

Hmmm...
Surely the ultimate end game is for original Class 101 users and new buyers (like me) who need the other BR liveried examples to have the same Class 101? If what has been said about potential clashes in Steam Workshop scenario capability are true, they might as well scrap the Workshop and release more scenarios themselves with the very stock they sell as DLC.

It's a new release for me... but would/should be a free upgrade for 'you.' At the very least, a heavy discount.

Looking forward to the 101. Fingers crossed for BR blue/grey, NSE, white with blue stripe liveries and BR Green... The sensible man in me believes (from the Class 08 experience) is that we will get BR Blue/Grey and BR Green.

Hurrah.
That .geopdx file is not a code used by the Rebel Alliance...

Can anyone offer any insight on the mode, as yet?

Is it a new Cl101 or "lightly re-worked"???

I suspect it is one I will get at some stage as a blue/grey 1st Gen DMU is one of the gaps in my current line up.

Thats the question. Ill get this provided it fixes the issues with the original, but not if its the original with updated textures.

For example is it possible to rotate 360 degrees in the cab?

**edit**

Screw it, ill buy it, stand by for a full report

what doesn't give me a lot of faith with DLC lately is the sheer amount of time it takes from the first pics to it actually being released, usually it's a few weeks from the first images dropping of a train etc till release, this one was less than 24 hours. I'm quite happy with my original 101 so see no need for this, even though it's discounted and with just one scenario

Well, just taken it for a quick spin. As far as I can tell (provided I am not missing something) its exactly the same as the original, albeit with rain, cablight, and 2013 external textures. The cab is identical complete with the annoying restrictive view.

The passenger view is ok, but Ive seen better and tend not to use them. I think the sounds have been tinkered with because so far I havent the high pitch screaming at top revs. Oh and also the destination boards have a few new entries. The keyboard commands have been changed about with E now moving the gear up and Shift-E moving it down.

So basically thats what your £9 gets you.

I would have to say if you have the original save your money. If you dont have it, and really like the class, then I guess its worth it, although a green livery seems a major omission.

IIRC, the original had E and Shift E for gear changes, at least that's the keys I've always used.

Good morning
For this time , again a payware reskin......I don't know for you , but the first one runs perfectly for me.....always asking money is not a very good idea.....Do you think that you are beautiful cashcows? I hope that it is wrong !!! I don't understand why not just a free upgrade for the owners of the Class 101 (first model)...
I am simply afraid , in the future, that some customers said stop for all.....and why RSC don't speak about futur products (new routes , new rollingstocks) ?
Any cristicism from me , but TS2013 become very expensive for me , and I am obliged to wait for the sold (in July or December) .I like this game , very much , but why are they taking this way ?
Oh , don't cry for me , but from France , it is very complicated to follow and understand that
have a good day

I imagine the new release is not aimed at existing users, I very much doubt they expect someone who has the original to purchase the new one!

And no-one is forcing you to part with your money. I purchase most add-ons in the sale now unless it is a new route or a very useful piece of stock.

If they were not expecting (or at least hoping) that some people who already had the original would buy this one as well then they would presumably have just updated the old one and then everyone would have been happy. The only reason I can think of for making this a 'new' release is the hope that some people will buy it 'twice'.

Existing users don't want to purchase the new one. If they can fix issues and update the DLC for new purchasers, then why can't they do it for existing users?

Only one reason...to get the user to buy DLC twice and therefore increase sales.

It's certainly making it difficult for steam user scenarios.

As others have said, that's obviously exactly what they expect. If they didn't expect people to buy it again they would have just updated the existing model and made it available for sale again (it would have been simpler for them, if nothing else). They are showing nothing but utter contempt for their existing customers, they deserve nothing more than for people to flood the workshop with scenarios referencing the original 101 to trigger a flood of complaints from new customeers who don't understand why they can't use the scenarios when they apparently have all the required stock.

Anyone who owns the original and decides to buy this copy should really just write me a cheque for the entire balance of their bank account, it would be a much more sensible investment

Prehaps you should offer to let them beta test the Oxford - Paddington route your working on for their money as that would be a much better investment than buying the 101 again. 8) The old 101 pack had everything in one asset box if you made a scenario. The way things are going with the new 101 you could be looking at ticking 4 asset boxes that's if they do green and NSE as stand alone packs aswell. The problem with having to tick more asset boxes to get the same thing is you'll have to leave something else out as the core game gets abit upset if you tick too many asset boxes. I don't know why they could not just have the V2's overwrite the V1's and keep all the files in the same place.
