brilliant.

for what it's worth, i have backed RSC for quite some time on here, but find their current practise of reaming customers for re-skins quite disappointing.
I agree.

I made a silly purchase with the Strathclyde dmu and felt used and abused. I will wait for reviews before purchasing this one.

It will be a delight to run it on the Port Road though if it has a decent cab view or passenger behind the driver view ( the latter even better )

I really shudder to think how much I've spent on dcc (I'd do more than shudder if Mrs squid worked it out!)

I am more than happy to pay for a reworked and improved model, obviously that takes time and effort. But I'd rather not pay for 2012 effects on the same tired model I already own.

That said I am genuinely interested if this is the latter or the former.

Here we go again! Wish I'd come to this sim this year instead of 2007. Thing I really really would like to see updated is the programme from 32 bit to 64 bit.

Right. So again I'll ask you which part of my post you didn't understand? Was it the bit when I said that Derek has always planned to get some kind of update done to the original stock, or the bit when I thought out loud that he' might be less likely to do it if everyone moaned?

There is little point in my adding anything more here as there's nothing else I can actually add. If you decide that somebody trying to do something nice for you is cause for complaint then who am I to argue? Crack on.

You reap what you sow.

Cheers

Makes no difference moaning anyway Bob, clearly it doesn't work, but it does make you feel better!

I think you'll find I support and buy RSC DLC when it's something other than a massive ripoff. Good to see that their policy of "let's charge our customers for "new" versions rather than updating the existing DLC as promised" has plenty of support though, it ensures those who have more sense than to spend money on the same thing twice are left with outdated DLC...

You are overstating things a tiny bit there Bob, there are only two pages to this thread so far. So everyone hasn't moaned yet. :) Myself and hundreds of other members here look forward to any possibility of improvements wherever and whenever they occur.

Indeed I would agree, if Derek says that he planned the update then I think it will come. As far as I know he is true to his word unless circumstances outside his control intervene.

Same here - I quite happily brought the Class 465, London to Faversham, and Western Lines is high on my list

Thanks for the confirmation that I'm not going totally mad. I was wondering whether my posts actually made any sense.

Well I've read them several times and they still dont make much sense to me.

You seem to be suggesting that this posting on facebook is RSC's way of announcing a re-release of and upgrade to the original 101 rather than, as most of us seem to be expecting, the release of a "new" 101 that existing owners will have to re-purchase.

Is that what you're saying here?

Fair enough. I have a habit of thinking that everyone will know what I'm on about just because I understand myself occasionally.

Talking to Derek before Christmas, he mentioned that his intention was always to provide some kind of update to the existing 101 pack models because he wasn't satisfied with them as they are at present (hence my earlier 'personal pride' comment).

I don't honestly know which bits he's intending to change - and I would be extremely surprised if they get the full treatment that the new models receive - but there is definitely something planned for them. Without anyone having to pay.

Does that read more clearly? I hope it does, because from where I'm sitting it's actually a piece of good news. :D

Cheers

The Problem here is,that, when the original 101 was released,it did not have the chernobyl look,But changes to the core program caused the unwanted effect, beats me why RSC has rereleased an old model with some minor changes, why not just issue a fix?
A quick search on the interweb finds a lot of fixes out there for the 101 woes, including rain and light effects, anti glow in the dark fix and cures for the banshee sound effects, why would anyone want to pay £11.99
for basicly something they already own?
