Pity they didn't apply the same approach to the Class 465   :o :drinking:

Maybe it is a reaction to the negative facebook comments! Which is maybe something we should be pleased about!

If I didn't have the original I would be tempted at that price.

Lovely stuff... I will buy it tonight as I am a noob. And proud. Still loving the simulator having finally made the change from MSTS to TS2013 in October (ish) last year.

Keep the stuff coming - especially welcome would be the 're-release' of the English Electric Type 4 (without bonnet) that totalled one more than 49 examples. Preferably a version that the Armstrong Powerhouse sound pack-pro will be allowed to be used upon.

Yes, it's an expensive interest... but if I wanted a 101, as a new user, I had to buy the Strathclyde thing. If I want an 08, I need to use my black one currently from the Woodhead thing - did somebody mention a BR blue version of this somwehere?

Bit of a cash cow feeling, I can understand that. And I am fortunate that I am able to afford what I can, given the current state of affairs.

For reference - I didn't buy L2F or the 465 as neither appeal to me. I bought WLOS and the associated kettles from steam and google.

+1 for the 442. And hoping for a 319.

Now... what shall I shunt first?
That .geopdx file is not a code used by the Rebel Alliance...

There are positives and negatives of releasing things by one skin. I am tied in the middle but mostly drawn towards that RSC shpuls do them, rather then letting the comminity. IT may be a good thing to provoke the community to produce reskins and bring out the professionals in us and get engaged in the game more, but it may also draw people away having to do more work etc, as well as in some cases not being as high standard :-?

And Traveler, that cracked me up a bit ;)

There is one downside to RSC's plan of doing one livery at a time and that is you need to tick more asset boxes when creating scenarios. And the core game is not that keen on having too many boxes ticked so if RSC want to keep going down this route they'll need to fix this problem with the core game.

Not the case, that only applies if the reskin has dependent decals too, otherwise it should reside in the same folder as the original model.

They do not reside in the same folders as the originals. These "reskins" are entirely new products.

The S&C 37, 66 and 158 all reside in different folders to the originals.
The V2 66 is in a different folder to the original.
The Woodhead 08 resides in a new folder.
The WLoS Black 5 does too.
The Strathclyde 101 as well.
And finally I'd be very surprised if the EWS and FL 08s were located in Assets\RSDL as per the original.

Its a clever way of saying its a fully new product and not a recycled model.

Seems like a simple trick really, get people into buy it, scenarios are built around, well, what is a very basic locomotive in terms of scenario production, and then it essentially becomes a dependency for all 3rd party scenario's. Thus, it increases sales down the line because people start needing one.

I'm not impressed. Just seen a mate's Freightliner 08 (he doesn't have the original pack like I do) and as far as we can tell there's no rear view out of the cab! In other words you can only look forwards through the little windows and in a hemispherical arc to 180 degrees from facing forwards. This is useless in a shunting engine where going backwards (whichever way IS backwards in one of these) is just as important and common as going forwards.

At least in the original 08s, and in the Woodhead 08 it was possible to turn the view right around and look out of the rear (larger) windows. 99% of the time I use cab view (especially now that we have a TrackIR mod that works nicely) and will be sticking firmly to my Woodhead 08 and my old RSDL Derek 08s.

A crying shame in a shunter pack.

P.S. Using the right arrow view moves you to the right of the cab and also doesn't allow the rear view. As does changing the cab end option.

This after a 10-15 minute look... If he's wrong, please somebody put us right now as my mate isn't impressed either.

Unless the camera files been changed from the original there shouldnt be a problem,
Give me a second I'll check.
Before that, I have noticed that sometimes the camera seems to stick on cabs with full rotations, happens with the JT 20 among others, but its a TS thing rather than a dev thing. Only started happening since TS2013 tho.
