Looks like RSC have an overseas route planned, one not set in the US or Germany. Should be interesting to see what this turns out to be, I'd like to see some more foreign routes in the sim.

Thanks for the heads up, it certainly looks Interesting indeed. Would definately like to see some European routes not from the UK or Germany.

A dutch route would be useful, especially as there is ready made stock available from ChrisTrains.

Totally agree. Chris' trains cover the more modern types and there is Dutch Classics and they cover the older types from the 50's, 60's, 70's and beyond. Both developers offer enough to support several routes in the Netherlands. So yes, a Dutch route please :D

My bets is that it's a French route as they now have the high speed signalling which the French use in place.

A South African Route (or Queensland Australia) would be interesting as be the perfect excuse for a Beyer-Garrett Locomotive to appear.

Darjeeling Narrow Gauge steam up that mountain with those sexy blue tank engines... They could even animate the man sat on the buffer beam throwing sand onto the rails... That would be hellfire...

I don't see why they would go to Stockholm to get to france?
I reckon that they may have flown to stockholm to take the ferry to Finland?

You may want to actually click on the link...

''However, one of our lead developers recently got on a plane and jetted off to a country we have not yet explored within the game to research a route that will soon begin development. Anyone wan't to hazard a guess as to what country/route this may be?''

As per usual how are we likely to guess anything correctly without any screenshots, they could have gone to any country in the world that has a railway system, and as only one person went, I'm wondering if they are going to sub-contract the route build out to a 3rd party, as, surely it takes more than one person to do the necessary research if RSC are going to actually develop it in-house.
And as they ''jetted off'' one would summise they didn't just nip across the channel to France, and our French Railworker friends are just about to release a route from their own country soon anyway, so, hopefully, it is a bit further away, we await more fresh updates and pictures, and what locomotives and rolling stock will accompany this authentic layout we will all wonder. :o

Cheerz. Transport Steve.

I could imagine one person doing the necessary original research, provided he got plenty of snaps of all the major locations and possibly cabride videos? Also, it's possible that this won't be the only research, from the wording it does appear to be preliminary research, conducted before actual building work starts on the route. They may have more trips planned, or the internet usually provides a wealth of relevant material.

That was my reasoning as well. I doubt it'll be somewhere in Western Europe, which is a shame as I was hoping for a Dutch route to run some of ChrisTrain's brilliant looking stock on. Either way, I'm still looking forward to seeing what this turns out to be. Perhaps somewhere in Asia? It's somewhere thats been fairly neglected by train simulation.

Also, out of interest, which French route is this? The St Lazare one on the railsim-fr forums?

You just wrote the best excuse for RSC to NOT make any dutch routes :)

Yes, however, reading on another forum, one of the route developers Satnur, has had various problems with the Railworks editors and manually having to move catenary and wires around, so, maybe it isn't anywhere near ready yet, sorry, to get one's hopes up too prematurely. :(

Cheerz. Steve.

Well its obvious they were in stockholm AND since the central station isnt really close to the airport its safe to say they traveld through stockholm on their way somewhere else..
and I dont know about you but last time I checked that would be an incredibly dumb way to get to france from the UK.
