Having had a look in my rsc assets folder I have got folders in there with 01 after some of the models, does this just mean version 1? I have 2 101 folders though and only one 111 folder? The one without the 01 after the folder name has green versions but the one that has got the 01 has no green versions but has a "pro" version on the dmbs dtcl dmcl trailers? I haven't got the strathclyde 101. :-?

There was, and probably still is a patch to make the 101 more prototypical in the file library here
Did you have it installed as Im certain it installs to its own directry and may be called "pro"

Hi Dave, I don't know why there is a separate folder? But the folder in question the 01 has only 374 kb in it? perhaps I just need to merge it and see what happens? :o

If it helps, I bought the original 101, not the Strathclyde reskin, and only have one subfolder in the RSC folder - Class101Pack.

Sorry to be a wet blanket, Dave, but the improved DMU performance doesn't alter or duplicate the directory structure.

Its at http://www.uktrainsim.com/filelib-info. ... leid=29061 for those interested.

Hi John, yes I had that installed already, just don't know where the extra folder has come from? Can't even remember if there were reskins done of the default? As that is the only reason I can think of as to where the extra folder came from? its a mystery!

May / June time last year a couple DMU physics patches were developed. One is available in the UKTS library (as per the link above). The other, which created "Pro" clones of the Class 101 inside the original file structure, is available from the link at the bottom of this thread.

Out of interest, which one do people use/prefer?

Munch, munch, munch. That's the sound of me eating my words! I hadn't come across that one.

In terms of preference (as asked above), I can't compare fairly without having tried that solution but would just pass comment that the one I use has two factors which some may see as a shortcoming although I'm happy to live with them:
  1. The cab controls lose the gear selector lever and gear change has to be done using the keyboard
  2. The "physics" may be just below realistic performance - maximum speed is a tad below 70 mph on level track, and in some scenarios I have created it hasn't been possible to keep time (although I acknowledge there are other factors that could affect this).
When I have time I will perhaps try that alternative although I am pretty sold on the one I am using.

Well I tried one of the pro versions and no matter what gear you select you can go 70 odd miles per hour! So no I prefer the one in the file library coupled with Bristolians sound set.

LOL, yes I had noticed that too, but only when you leave it at full revs instead of changing up a gear! (I think this problem could be addressed within the lua scripting). It does otherwise seem to emulate the existance of a "mechanical gear box" perfectly well, but I don't have the knowledge to be able to say if the actual physics is otherwise realistic, hence my question.
