Re: Great Eastern
Have just caught up with the development of this route which is truly good news esp with the branch lines etc. as this adds to the enjoyment of a good network.
Not sure of there are intentions to release Ipswich to London first and then add on as the old MSTS Great Eastern became Greater Eastern - best keep that one under wraps.
Any chance of a paypal account so we can donate to this? Free things are good but it's also a joy to be able to support such a worthwhile addition to the hobby.

Re the paypal thing, that's very kind but no need. Perhaps someone will buy me a beer
This is a hobby and if what I can create, is enjoyed by others, that is reward enough.
A while back I did contact RS to see if they would be interested in taking the route over as I felt it was taking up too much free time and they had better resources and staff to do it justice.
They did not reply. Therefore it will remain freeware (disclaimer: apart from needing some payware for all the assets)
I don't publicise much as sometime people make announcements and then it vanishes never to be heard of again.
Rest assured, its going slowly but is getting there, and from the miles completed, I have worked out that scenery wise it is 98% complete. That last two percent is just quite a detailed bit!!

If you're ever in The Bay Horse in East Ardsley, just tell the staff your beer is already 'paid on'jimessex wrote:Re the paypal thing, that's very kind but no need. Perhaps someone will buy me a beer
If anybody does feel the need to show some monetary *reward* for anything available from here, could I suggest a donation to a suitable charity?
Re: Great Eastern
I certainly think a route of this length and standard is certainly worth being payware, although the best reward is great feedback and enjoyment of the route!
I have been looking for updates on the extension for a long time (since Crouch Valley 2 came out, possibly my favourite and most played route of all time)
Keep up the good work, and good luck on the last 4 miles to Liverpool Street!
Now all we need is a Class 321

---- and a 315, 312, 308, 305, 302 all those lovely old style EMUs of my childhood.
Quick question will this be the nice Liverpool Street of the early 80s or the nasty bunker of the post 90s

Re: Great Eastern
Considering the Eurostar depot at Temple Mills has been modelled (very nicely, I might add), I would imagine it's modern-era.d1023 wrote:Quick question will this be the nice Liverpool Street of the early 80s or the nasty bunker of the post 90s

Re: Great Eastern
Absolutely fantastic, really looking forward to it. Thanks for all the hard work.
Re: Great Eastern
Liverpool St will be the modern day version I'm afraid.
I would be very pleased if someone made a 321. I'm hoping Waggonz may have a go one day given the fantastic looking quality of the class 90.
Does anyone know what is happening with the GEML/ Bittern and Wherry lines that was in production? The topic is now locked with no explanation which is a shame as I was really looking forward to seeing it.

Re: Great Eastern
Having lived at Gt Yarmouth when I was a teen (many years ago!!) I too was looking forward to the Bittern and Wherry for TS2013, especially as I watched all the youtube videos. However, despite messaging the route builder, I sadly received no answer and the proposed route seems to have disappeared into the mist. I, for one, would be ecstatic if it was released (and I would CERTAINLY pay for it). If anybody has an update, please add to this thread.

Re: Great Eastern
The addition of the Traincare Depot was an addition long after the Eurostar site was setup. They had spare yard capacity (I am led to believe) and the Traincare Depot is on that site.valiant222 wrote:

Looking at Google earth, most if not all is unrecognizable to me now.
Re: Great Eastern
Hi there
I still have the Bittern/Wherry Lines route and run it now and then. It could really do with an update to 2013 folder structure and foliage though and the problem of doing that has put me off thus far.
I presume the mods locked the topic as I hadn't contributed for a while but they didn't tell me.
I'm working on something else at the mo and depending on how things go I'll get round to sorting out the route.
Anyway, this GEML is certainly looking good and will give a nice home to the Class 90.

Re: Great Eastern
Hi gypbrc - delighted to hear you still have Bittern and Wherry. Would you like some help finishing it? There is an army of route builders on this site who, I'm sure, would volunteer. I could certainly have a go at the foliage, if you wish! I've already personalised a number of payware routes so I have some experience. Anyway, you certainly wouldn't be the first developer to upload a partly finished route (for others to try out). Birmingham - Derby springs to mind.
Re: Great Eastern
Being an East Anglian, I am looking forward to this. It would; be great if Bittern lines could appear somehow too. My first ever train ride was Wroxham to norwich. And 2nd was Beceles to Liverpool Street.
Re: Great Eastern
The Orient Way Depot wasn't built on spare Eurostar Depot land but on the site of the relatively short lived EWS Depot that replaced the better known Stratford Shed which was demolished to make way for the International Station.PeterPeddlesden wrote:The addition of the Traincare Depot was an addition long after the Eurostar site was setup.
