Hi Jim,

Very much looking forward to Christmas! Glad you're continuing on with it as the RSC incarnation isn't likely to cover enough for everyone :).

SOme people still seem concerned that this route will not be released.

Hopefully this picture will put some minds at rest. All is still going well and I am sure there is room for both routes as both will have plus points and negative.

Very nice Jim. Thundered through there on many occasions. Only ever stopped twice.

Glad you are carrying on Jim. Your route looks like it will be much more complete. Yes there will be pluses for both sceneries and choice is never a bad thing!
Keep up the sterling effort.

Good on you Jim - It's looking really good.
I think you will hold the trump card over the other route as yours comes with the possibility of extending to Norwich and the branch lines (Marks Tey, Harwich, etc).
I wish you all the best and look forward to running you route soon.

While in prison, errr boarding school in Norfolk I used to use this line every weekend for a number of years, although that would have been in the early 90's. Norwich all the way down to either Southend Victoria, sometimes going as far as London Liverpool Street and then the misery line service. Used to be home in around 3 hrs or less. If I recall it used to be pulled a class 47 back in the day? Memory not so good :(. I do remember the AC going on high and then having to pay the extra premium for food and drinks.

So, yes a little disappointed they didn't go all the way to Norwich, but I understand their reasons, plus it opens the other parts up to 3rd parties route builders hopefully :). Thanks Jim for continuing!

Thumbed many a lift Back to Chelmsford from a passing freighliner on route to Harwich or Felixstowe as it was coming round the Channelsea curve to join the GEML. That Stratford platform shown was where I used to wait after finishing a late turn at Stratford MPD (RIP) back in the late 70's. Things were more lax in those days as long as you had your drivers uniform on, the drivers would slow and you could hop into the cab. Happy days.

Haven't been up there for years so it would seem a lot has changed.

Keep going Jamie we/I need this route
