Morning everyone,
I've been having a bash at changing the sounds applied to the RSC Class 101 to something possibly more accurate.
This is a work in progress.
This has already been posted in the Videos section, but is reposted here for wider attention (Moderators please remove if deemed needed.).

Thanks for your kind and encouraging comments

, the sounds are the important thing to me, I wouldn't know the first thing about adding the rain effects - I'll leave that to someone who DOES know

.
If someone wants to try the sounds as they stand at the moment, please let me know by PM. Once I'm even half-satisfied with the sounds, I want to try adding them to 'other' DMUs...
Very Best Wishes,
Bob.

Good evening everyone,
I've now had luck in replacing the sounds supplied with an alternative-provider modelled Pressed Steel DMU, which now sounds like my modified RSC Class 101.
The only thing that doesn't seem to work on the Pressed Steel DMU is the fact that as there's no Driver - Guard acknowledging buzzer modelled in that cab, pressing B doesn't do anything.
To get these sounds, the original RSC Class 101 needs to be installed beforehand.
Is anyone interested in trying them out? Please send me an IM if so.
Very Best Wishes,
Bob.

Would love to get some better sounds for an old DMU I have installed but I don't think it's the one you're referring to

Sounds nice Bob,youv'e done a good job.I'm halfway there with that old DMU can't mention for other reasons, will post an update today.
That's the 101 and the **other** one that's getting the 1st gen sound treatment.

Hello Daz,
Thank you!. I've done the sounds for the 'suburban' set, and plan on doing the 'other' set later on

.
I've sorted out the screaming gears problem, now I want to get the physics a bit more realistic in the acceleration department...
Very Best Wishes,
Bob.

Lol!

, if the sounds give as much satisfaction as I've received from working on them and test-driving, I'll be enormously happy

.
I'm sure that Daz feels the same way too

.
Very Best Wishes,
Bob.

Afternoon Folks,
I now have the Sheffield-built DMU running happily aliased to my modified RSC Class 101 sounds

.
As previously noted, the physics need tweaking, but overall, she's a nice drive now

.
Again, if anyone would like to try the modified DMU, please drop me a PM.
Very Best Wishes,
Bob.

Evening folks,
Every Loco or DMU in this shot has had their sounds tweaked.
The 08 now has an air whistle, the 47 now has a 47 Horn, and the two DMUs are now aliased to my new sound settings for the RSC Class 101 DMU.
[Moderator Comment: "Easilyconfused - Download link changed at Bob's request since it was causing issues. Thanks for resolving that Bob.]
The new DMU sounds are free to download here:-

Please note that this project is very much still a work-in-progress. The driver-guard acknowledgement buzzer does not work in the non-RSC DMUs due to it not being modelled in their cabs!. Also, the physics need tweaking to stop the DMUs accelerating like a Formula 1 car
. Finally, compatibility is best with the default RSC Class 101 Pack.
I hope that you enjoy the DMUs more now.
Very Best Wishes,
Bob.
