Clearing cache

I am having a problem clearing the cache in the tools section of the start up screen(TS 2013). I get the message,(failed to start game app already running) this seems to have happened since a Steam upgrade.
I am also finding when a scenario from the workshop needs the Bristol Exeter route it ends up with a red cross in the tickbox,ie route not installed, although it is, any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Just ok the message and try again works every time for me.
Re B to E are you sure you have it from steam amd not from JT? If its the JT ver workshop stuff wont work unfortunately

Thanks for reply, tried your suggestion still the same, have to start manually, I did d/load Brisol Exeter from Just Trains did not realise it woukd not work when the Steam workshop requires it, another lesson learnt. After using MSTS for a good few years and being able to sort most things out I do find this one somewhat difficult, perhaps i'ts me getting old.

Thanks for reply I suppose I shall have to eventually verify via Steam bit reluctant at the the moment because of third party add ons.
