I have just purchased a Medion E4057 in ASDA for £315 . (reduced in sale from £349) i does not come with a screen but does have a keyboard and mouse.

The only draw back is it does not have a built in wireless network connector. ( £20 from Maplins sorted that.)

It runs train simulator 2013 in highest setting like a dream, it is like a total new game. As many people have posted asking for the required specs to run 2013 with no jerky movement ETC, I thought i would post this info.

It is windows 8 which takes a bit of getting used to but when you get used to it it is pretty good.

I had a bit of bother getting all my 3rd party stuff transferred across but that was nothing to do with the computer or operating system just me.

Stewart, what routes are you running on it---it'd be interesting to hear how it fares with WCML or London-Brighton.

London- Brighton, Woodhead, Portmouth Direct, Glasgow Edinburgh,Glasgow Airport Rail link. West coast Main Line,all the default routes. Not a stutter no matter how dense the scenery or heavy the traffic all settings at high.

I thought it might improve 2013 performance a bit but it has exceed all my expectations.

All in all, a good buy then. Makes a nice change to read a success story !

Better note down the processor and Graphics card then, just in case I ever need to upgrade my soon-to-arrive PC.

Although tbf, GARL wasn't really that demanding given my clapped-out Pentium 4 processor laptop could run it.

This PC, if it follows the spec in the review, is using the onboard graphics capabilities of the CPU, with surprisingly good results.

It would be interesting to know the temperature of these cpu running at peak performance.

Surprising for those who are get used to the weak intel's onboard graphics but the AMD onboard graphics are much stronger, just make sure it have fast rams, as the onboard GPU using that, and sensitive to speed. (while the CPU isn't)

I am no computer expert. I had no idea what graphics card it had or has. i just thought when i found a computer at a reasonable price which turns out to work great with train simulator I would share the info with everyone.

I will leave the ins and outs of the technical specs to others.

nice to see a Small budget system able to run TS2013 with very good results

My new PC arrives on Thursday, I'll report on how it runs when I sort it out.

Video card has nothing to do with stuttering. HDD or SSD does.

It might be an idea to have on the site a list of computers that have been found to run train sim 2013 ok to help people who are thinking of upgrading.

Well, big thanks to Big Stewart for posting this information, it all looks too good to be true as prices go, at the moment you can obtain it on e-bay for £309.99, however, it does state on the internet that the length of parts and labour guarantee is only 1 year, however, I thought under British and European Law, all electrical goods are a minimum 3 year basic warranty anyway. The specifications look very good, but, it has a traditional hard disk rather than an SSD, or, a drive with flash memory, and with only 1TB storage hard-drive, which, I would personally like to split into 2 drives of 500GB each, can that be done by the end-user?
There are no speakers included, so, you'd need a monitor with built in ones, or, twin speakers, which would take up a lot of room on a table, there are no fans installed, nor, is it wireless enabled either, the inside looks a little cluttered when you open it up to clean it, I'm just a little anxious that this seems all a bit cheap, and it is relatively new on the market, December 2012 are when most of the various web reviews are dated, I need to upgrade from WIN XP soon, so, I'm taking an active interest in searching for a new PC and this Tower looks the business, but, there are too many questions over it's operational benefits for me personally.
