Hi everybody quick question that I would like to know, do the Railworks downloads on this site work on train sim 2013 as I've found a few repaints of some locos that I would like on my game that aren't on the 2013 list on this site?
If anybody know the answer to this can they tell me.
Many will work but some e.g. Class 47 will not have functioning cabviews as some locos were updated completely and others had rain effects added which the old skins do not have.
The only way to tell is install and if no good then uninstall. I certainly would not bother with old class 47, HST for a couple I can think of. They will probably be ok as AI locos though.
So far I can say that all wagon and passenger coaches should be ok in TS2013. Repaints for the class 66, 67,390,380,31,20,58,70,150,156,170,317,318,377 should all work first time round if you follow the instructions.
The class 86, 43, 37 and 47 repaints should work, but some may need a bit of file editing first. Look out for repaints by David Hossack. These are usually guaranteed to work first time.

I found the codes to change the .bin files on this Spanish site very useful. I have all my HST Buffers with rain effects and a few 47s
Use Google Translate or other program
It's not as complicated as it looks http://www.ferrosim.es/viewtopic.php?f=80&t=756
I can translate if anyone's interested.
Yes I fixed all the HST Buffers. I'm not sure if it's allowed to upload the files as it was a payware item.
Follow the thread on the Steam forum from #48 and it's easy enough to fix yourself.
Backup the HST folder first of course.Easy to make mistakes. Use the HST code not the one in #48 and put a copy of serz.exe on the desktop for easy access. http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/s ... 203&page=4
[HSTB] It's Snow Good (ECML) TSX on.
ICS buffers
Before editing .bin file
After editing
Keep a backup after editing as this will revert after a verify or major update.
I've just given that a go (the WiperPairs code goes in as a new section, correct?) but the cabview is still broken.
Just to check, should I be editing
...\Railworks\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\RailVehicles\Diesel\HST\BR_IC125_buffers\Class43\class43_ic.bin ?
I pasted in the HST code from the Spanish site...
My understanding re uploads is that you're OK to upload individual modified files for payware, provided that they aren't sufficient to enable someone to use it without already owning the complete asset - which I'm fairly sure this wouldn't. Can someone confirm that?
Thanks for the pointer... it'll be nice to be able to run the HSTB scenarios without having to turn TSX off.
I made a mistake first time I tried it so make sure you have the HST folder backed up.
When you have the .bin file 'serzed' to an xml file,open it with Notepad and then scroll down to find (near the bottom somewhere)
</ControlValues>
</cControlContainerBlueprint>
Create a gap between those 2 lines and paste in the HST wipers code.
Save as..
Then use serz to return it to a .bin file and paste it over the .bin files in the ICS buffers class 43 folders. All 3 types.
I didn't bother with the no driver (nd) versions.
Repeat with the Grand Central buffers and any others that need it like repaints.Do each one separately ,don't just use the ICS .bin file.
Use this code for HST buffers
<WiperPairs>
<cControlContainerBlueprint-cWiperPair d:id="63741344">
<SlaveToAnimationA d:type="cDeltaString">wipers</SlaveToAnimationA>
<SlaveToAnimationB d:type="cDeltaString"></SlaveToAnimationB>
<TextureID d:type="cDeltaString">Kuju\RailSimulator\RailVehicles\Diesel\HST\Default\CabView\Textures\[00]hst_cab_wiper_mask_nm</TextureID>
<NormalsTextureID d:type="cDeltaString">Kuju\RailSimulator\RailVehicles\Diesel\HST\Default\CabView\Textures\[00]hst_cab_glass_normals_mask_nm</NormalsTextureID>
</cControlContainerBlueprint-cWiperPair>
</WiperPairs>
I'm sure you can upload the .bin files for the engines without issue. RSC state they don't allow the shape files to be uploaded, so you should be alright.

Wel I don't mind mucking up my own files but I can't be responsible for anyone elses.
I'm no computer expert and that was the first time I edited a .bin file so I'm sure anyone else can fix their own.
It really isn't that hard and I can explain it further if necessary.
Found it - I'd misread the instructions, and was pasting the code after the quoted lines, not between them.
That's awesome - a newly-driveable loco and scenarios! Now I just need to sort out the cab camera position so it doesn't feel like I'm driving with my face pressed against the windscreen...
For reference for others, the file is class43_ic.bin in
...Railworks\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\RailVehicles\Diesel\HST\BR_IC125_buffers\Class43
...Railworks\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\RailVehicles\Diesel\HST\Intercity_swallow_buffers\Class43
...Railworks\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\RailVehicles\Diesel\HST\Intercity_swallow_buffers\Class43-DVT
...Railworks\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\RailVehicles\Diesel\HST\Intercity_swallow_buffers\Class43-DVT-2
BTW, rivimey's RWTextEdit program does a rather nice job of editing the .bin files directly, saving the hassle of using SERZ in each direction. I gather Mike Simpson's RWTools also has this functionality.
Oh good. Do the Grand Central used in [HSTB] Grander Central
Then spend many joyful hours editing the other HST buffers,old 47s,37s whatever.
Save them somewhere or like me you'll have to do it all again after verifying or update.

Found the Grand Central one and fixed that too. All my buffer HSTs are now pointed to their own cab camera file, which I've edited along with the original so that both put all the gauges in your line of sight.
I'm trying to package all the modified files up in an .rwp, but apparently the main .bin files are "protected" so Packager won't add them.
Now, I know that .rwps can be read by 7-zip: if I create a new .zip using that software and rename it to .rwp, will that work?
