DT Class 40 Cabview

Post by rfletcher72 »

Dear all,

I am currently writing a scenario using the DT class 40. All is fine, until I come to drive :( . You start off in the back cab!

I can switch to the front cab OK, no probs. But after you set off, if you switch to an external view and then go back inside, it dumps you again into the back cab... :-?

Have checked in the scenario editor and the driver is at the front. I can live with it, but the scenario involves changes of direction, so I would rather sort it out. Have checked DT website for patches but cannot see one. There is a service pack on the Just Trains website but it does not list the above as an issue, and I bought it from DT anyway. One further point is that I am using the AP Clas 40 sound pack. I have also cleared cache.

As always, any advice greatly appreciated.

In the editor, you must flip the locomotive.
That happened to me with another locomotive, and I solved that way.

Thanks Juanillo99,

I did think of that at first, but was just wondering if a more permanent solution was available.

Thanks again,

Richard

You'll always start at the end of the loco / multiple unit where the 'Driver Icon' is located. So if you're coupled up to a rake of coaches (for example) and the driver icon is closest to the gangway'ed end, then you'll start the scenario / free roam looking directly at that gangway. :)

This is handy in itself as you can easily tell the end is "the front" in game when you're making scenarios that involve a lot of shunting instructions. i.e the front is always the end with the icon

Thanks Andy,

As I mention in my original post, the driver is located at the front of the train in the scenario editor and to add to that, he is still at the front in the sim, but still I start off in the rear cab.

What problems has the solution I provided?
I do not know any other solution.

The 3d modelled 'driver' in the cab(s) isn't the same as the 'Driver Icon'. When you set up a loco / unit to be used as Player or AI the icon above denotes the end you start in. :)

Ah Andy, I see what you mean. The driver icon is at the front in the scenario editor, but I still start facing the train. I will see how I go... :drinking:
