After my update stalling last night and attempts to verify seeming to freeze,
I thought ahh forget it, and deleted TS.
its just finished reinstalling now, all the content I had before still seems to be there including items listed in this thread as awol.

Extreme measures i know but at least it confirms nothing has been removed.

Someone in another thread is talking about some major updates to a number of routes, yet also missing AWS (which to them is a good thing, but I'm sure most would disagree). RSC on their facebook are as usual selectively ignoring posts related to the update (yet replying to the easy questions). Will try later to see what I get, but a verify last night didn't work.

I tested AWS on a few routes, all was working as expected (running with "exit on Spad" Off), bell sounds on clear, horn sounds on warning.

Well, after a long verification it found loads of files missing and downloaded them. All previously missing trains and their associcated scenarios are back. The scenarios themselves were showing errors, but a clear cache solved that. Still not happy that a loss of DLC has occured again, particularly on this scale. Either RSC are making lots of cockups, or they need to seriously think ifbthey want to trust their reputation on steam if it's steam who are responsible.

As, others, I received my update last night. Come this morning RW would not start. Fortunately, a reboot brought it back to life and it loads and runs fine now. I have not noticed anything different as yet, even though, a file check reported a lot had been going on with regards to the files of Railworks.

This is the ONLY Steam game out of 100+ where items mysteriously disappear / reappear, and the fact that Valve (Steam) are simply a 'host' to the publishers and have items scheduled to upload / modify / put items on sale via an automated schedule. With this this mind, I know who I trust more...

Yes, yes, yes, yes and I don't own the ICE3. Verify your cache, that seemed to work.

Spot on, AndyM77.

I own 306 games on Steam. Only one of those games ever plays up. The maths is quite compelling.

how many of them have 100+ items of DLC? most stuff on steam is quite static. whilst i am not defending RSC as what has happened is a bit daft, it's also not a fair comparison.

Well curiously mine updated last night and having seen the notes here I checked and all seemed to be OK. Using the Class 150 as the benchmark I have just received another update again tonight. I always start by looking at the manuals to see if that gives me a clue as to what has updated and the Class 150 Manual which was updated yesterday has vanished. So checked the game and suddenly the 150 has gone again. Baffling.

it would be interesting to consider how many of the other games available from Steam have the degree of interactivity with the basic game files that is a feature of RS2013. From my own experience of Steam games, many of them need downloading, then forgetting about, in terms of setup - they are either zero or low-maintenance, from the users point of view, allowing us to get on with the job of playing them.

One of the strengths of RS2013 is that it can be tinkered with almost endlessly by users, added to, modified way beyond the scope available for other games. I'm sure that few, if any of us, would wish this to be otherwise. However, such flexibility comes at a price - given that most peoples' PCs are set up differently, have different specs, etc, it's little wonder that what works for one person will not work the same for another. Quite possibly the best way of ensuring that every scenario and feature of RS2013 works properly is to leave it alone - but how many of us would now be happy with that? We've got used to all these add-ons, and there are now so many of them that it's quite likely that some will not be compatible with others.

I didn't get my update from RSC last night, although I was online and playing. I'm not going to get bootfaced or rant about it, (either here or to RSC) - I'm simply going to verify my game cache integrity, which is almost done as I type. In light of all the posts stating "this has disappeared" and "this has now returned", I'm pretty confident that sooner or later, all my files will be where they should be, and my game will be all the better for the upgraded files that caused RSC to issue the update.

Don't get me wrong - I can be critical of RSC where they deserve it, and communications is clearly a serious issue between them and the user base at the moment, but sometimes, I think we need to cut them some slack - how many other sims do you know that offer this much flexibility and regular FREE upgrades?

Just my two-penny-worth... :P
