How do you rate your PC ?
I see many requests for help re CPU's and GPU's Disc Drives etc etc.
I shouldn't think there are two pc's the same between any of us and all these components behave differently in varying configurations.
So how do you know how your PC actually rates.
Even comparing Frame Rates in Railworks does not give a perfect answer because of the different quality settings available and then there are our own perceptions of what is ok.
I built my pc 2 years ago mainly because as a pensioner I thought it would be fun but it's well out of date by now and I wanted to know by how much. Passmark software runs the websites;
http://www.cpubenchmark.net
http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/
http://www.harddrivebenchmark.net/
http://www.memorybenchmark.net/
http://www.passmark.com/baselines/index.php
These websites give you the results of many thousands of users who have tested their pc with free software (you can buy it too) available here.
http://www.passmark.com/download/pt_download.htm
I don't want to start a Performance War (The highest pc score is 7055) but I would be interested in some feedback. I would be particularly interested to see the correlation between a passmark score and RW Framerates.
Cheers
BTW anyone run RW/RS on a Mac ? any success ?

Re: How do you rate your PC ?
Have virtually identical computer spec to Ash above (same processor/different graphics) and noticed that passmark is a strange beast and does really not alter it's results; even after the latest AMD graphics driver is installed.ashgray wrote:I've just managed a score of 4160.

I do have Futremark's advanced offering and it's results increase anything up to 15%, which is directly inline with the percentage frame rate increase within TS2013
Charles
p.s obviously with for mentioned computer spec - no performance issues - smooth running

Re: How do you rate your PC ?
1894 was my score. The RAM and Graphics were given 3.5-4/5 but the disk drive was given 1.5, and I don't really use the disk drive so had the disk been taken out of the equation it would've been higher.

My score from my basic SATA HDD:
This Computer 2412
Running my SSD:
This Computer 4023
Railworks runs well maxed with no frame-limiter from the HDD, gotta move Railworks to the SSD.
