I don't have an intrinsic objection to paying a small amount for an upgrade, whether it's to the basic software or for DLC, but I do want to feel I'm getting value for money with any purchase. If this marketing strategy continues, they might as well change their logo to crossed pistols and a highwayman's mask.....

Are you saying that the sound and / or physics haven't been improved in this version and as you haven't bought it how do you know?

It does state quite clearly in that paragraph that it refers to the original class 101. However, having said that and watched RSCs video of the new version, I am sure I can still hear the screaming engines of the rear car. I would hope that I am wrong.

I will not pay £12 for this , i might only buy it in a sale

It looks to me their marketing strategy is to see how much they can squeeze us for until we say no more. Judging by the comments so far, I think we might have reached that point. Additionally, I don't think it's going to greatly appeal to the majority of their (younger) facebook 'community' either.

Interestingly the SD-45 (again only one livery) was released yesterday too, same price but with five scenarios and five reskinned wagons.

50% off I would not rush to get it. If it were in BR Blue and Green liveries I would be tempted.

Apparently, according to RSC I have an interesting opinion, that was their response to my email stating how I thought they were having a laugh with the £11.99 price tag for the Strathclyde Class 101, considering it was just an re-skin with rain and lighting effects of the original Class 101 DLC, and that they had no loyalty to the original class 101 DLC customers in not upgrading that.

Although I don't necessarily think the old 101 will be upgraded, I also wouldn't take the Facebook comment as meaning it definitely won't happen. I'm sure something similar was said when the class 67 Jubilee was released; 'will not be upgraded' could be meant as 'will not be upgraded as part of this release', not 'will not ever be upgraded'. RSC are not renowned for their good communication.

It really wasn't in the context of "will not be upgraded as part of this release", the question asked to RSC on facebook was if the 101 pack would get upgraded to TS2013 standards and RSC clearly stated no. Facebook comments from RSC are pretty much considered legitimate now since everything is advertised, informed and put through their facebook page then proceeds to their other social media outlets, if that isn't considered official then I don't really know what can be considered official anymore.

And yes I also complained about the Class 67 Jubilee special DLC when that came out.

I too was hoping for a better upgrade,I have been waiting to buy this but it won't be on my list with only one livery. What is Railworks thinking of,they are going to alienate the whole of the simming community if they carry on like this.

Darren Porter did a SPT reskin, UKTS 26155, but it's no longer available. Perhaps he can be asked to upload his revised version? I do like the 101 but I'm not buying it for one livery and a few scenarios that I cannot use. I don't have the WCML. I'll stick with the 'old' 101 and Darrens' SPT reskin, thank you.
