Wheelslip lies - I never moved!

Post by Jacko »

Scenario: Sunday Madness (how apt) for the WCML addon
Driving: Cross Country HST

Loaded up, then got distracted by small ankle-biters. Left the train in the platform - didn't even get as far as switching to cab view. Didn't move so much as a sausage. Left it that way for about half an hour whilst I attended domestic emergency. Finally got back to find exactly the same view as I'd left (understandably). Quit the scenario so that I could get back to the main menu and re-play it (this time hopefully without distraction).

I could not help but laugh - out loud too - when I saw the mission report:

Operational Errors 1 of 1, Wheel slippage 0.003% of the time ... High Speed Train InterCity Swallow 00:33:46, Distance travelled 0.00 miles 0.00 Kilometres

Has anyone ever completed a scenario with absolutely zero operator errors? If so, what did you use? A magic carpet? :)

There was a long thread about this on the Steam Forum a few months ago, and the Wheelslip happens when the game places the loco on the track.

yeah its quite funny/annoying where you can not move the loco AND get wheelslip

I tend to ignore it unless it is a big number

Its could also be becuase TS the trains move even when stationery. A well known issue that I have raised with RSC who said they are looking into it.

I notice they're doing a round of updates and fixes today. I wonder if this will be the kind of thing addressed in it? I do hope so. It would be good to see more of the niggles removed, as well as the flashy bits they keep changing (like the name, for example!)
