Just Trains - JJA Auto Ballaster Advanced
Hi All,
Just lashed out and purchased the Just Trains JJA Autoballaster Advanced and ZZB Seacow Advanced to replace my old Plus Pak versions.
Excellent models, look great. But, I noticed some odd behaviour when running one of the included scenarios for the JJA's. The scenario "JT JJA - Weekend Engineers" on "Oxford-Paddington (Great Western Mainline)"sees you drive a rake of JJA's between Didcot and Twyford behind a Class 47. Anyway, at a couple of places along the way it is necessary to slow down for speed restrictions etc etc. However, I found that after applying the train brake and slowing down to the required speed limit, once I released the brake the train would very rapidly accelerate to 5, 10 or 15 MPH above the value I had slowed to. It would then gradually slow down on its own, but not to the speed limit I had slowed to originally. The throttle was at zero %. At first I thought it might be some clever effect of inertia with all the attached wagons, but the track is level at the places this occurred.
Has anyone else experienced odd behaviour like this? I was going to e-mail Just Trains, be I'll be damned if I can find a 'Contact Us' link that leads to an e-mail address.
Anyway, can anyone make a suggestion as to what this problem might be?
Cheers.

Something similar happens in one of the Class 66 scenarios, IIRC it is "cement duty". I think the explanation there was that the physics went awry because the scenario was set in winter...

If you already have the non advanced version, do you have to buy the advanced version separately? Can't see a Upgrade download?
Re: Just Trains - JJA Auto Ballaster Advanced
Go to your account, and re-download the installer.

From my understanding, you shouldn't have to buy them again. Just go into the Purchases section of your account and download the latest version of the installer.

Yes, as they are now only offering the 'Advanced' version, anyone who has previously purchased will have an automatic free upgrade and just a re-download from your account page is all that is necessary.

I think it is great that JT don't feel it necessary to launch this as a new product at full price - a welcome change.
Thanks guys

I'll echo this sentiment. In hushed tones, though, if you don't mind because I don't want to set anyone on uschrisreb wrote:I think it is great that JT don't feel it necessary to launch this as a new product at full price - a welcome change.
Thank you, Just Trains.

Re: Just Trains - JJA Auto Ballaster Advanced
This errant behaviour happens with quite a few wagons using slack 3-link couplings.
Essentially, the basic game physics is borked, thus creating energy during impacts. It's the same issue that makes uncoupling so dangerous...

Re: Just Trains - JJA Auto Ballaster Advanced
I am in correspodence with JT via FaceBook and their support about this.DaveDewhurst wrote:I've just redownloaded, The installer says its the advanced version but I cant see how to get the advanced bits to work, checked the manual and its still the old one Dave
Firstly, I have downloaded and installed bothe upgrades (being a previous purchaser they are 'free') however when the files are run I have not seen any files upgraded only folders (to the date of update install). I have done this now on three consecutive days (comparing them to a back-up I made prior to this and no files have changed as far as I can see. Support are looking into this but say they cannot replicate?
Has anyone got new files produced by the upgrade method?
Secondly, the manual has not been re-written but will be soon - in the mean time I have suggested they put some text together (on FaceBook?) to explain the new features?!
HELP!!
