I have a question and i couldnt see it in the previous posts. On the speedometer on the train ui it say for example, you are going at a speed of 50mph as the speed limit is 50mph. The track speed sign says 40mph. Why does the track speed sign not match the speed limit on the train ui. You know, where it shows how fast you are going and under that it shows the speed limit.

The most obvious possible answer is that you have just passed a speed sign for a faster section of track, but the rear of the train is still in the slower section. The sim works to a rule that the train can only travel as fast as the lowest speed track occupied. So in the case mentioned, while the front is in a fast section, the rear is in a slow one, and you're restricted to the slow limit.

There are other possibilities. Track speed limit markers are additional assets added by the route builder and with a limit separately specified, so it's possible the track speed (a property of track itself, and displayed beside the speedo on the HUD) differs from the speed limit signs by the track, and the limit seen on the route indicator (which shows the limit as set by the limit signs). If this were the case, it is probably a route building error.

However, in Munich-Augsberg, there is a new signalling and speed limit system in use, so if you're using that, go read and inwardly digest the manual: it's more complex than I can explain here.

All I can add is that the route builder can place the speed limit shape wherever desired. In particular, speed limit announcements are found far from their track link. The track link "measures" the permitted speed, so if you want to announce it 200 m in rear, you place the link 200 m in advance (or "down the road") from the shape seen by the driver.
